Laurie Yapp has proved to be everything I could ask for in a designer . Having completed in my home a very difficult space to coordinate to our style of living has been a feat in itself . Having tried several options prior to working with Laurie Yapp , I can honestly say she succeeded in delivering excellent, elegant , highly professional work , all the while completely elevating the look in my home . Her professionalism is personal . She is smart , attentive , efficient and truly aims to work in learning what her clients are all about . I would never hesitate to recommend Laurie for any work . I very satisfactorily rate her a 5 star.

We thoroughly enjoyed working with Laurie. She has worked with us on two separate projects, neither of which were complete makeovers as we wanted to use most of our existing furniture. She was able to help us with paint, art work, lighting and accent pieces that pulled it all together for a beautifully finished look! Overall, Laurie made herself available, listened to our ideas and concerns, connected us with some great contacts who delivered excellent quality work, and provided excellent suggestions and ideas every step of the way.

My partner and I moved into our first home together recently. One of our walls needed to be repainted, and Laurie kindly took us through all the best possible colours and shades that would pair nicely with our home based on its existing characteristics. We landed on a beautiful sage green. Laurie took everything into consideration when helping us choose the right green; how it pairs with the greenery of the park outside, the contrast with the concrete ceiling, how it compliments the wooden furniture, how it would look when the sun reflects off of it, I could go on and on … I couldn’t be happier with the result, and it wouldn't be possible without Laurie’s help!

We hired Laurie Yapp Design for a bathroom renovation (Newton Bathroom) and the finished space is timeless, cohesive, and beautifully elevated. Laurie’s eye for colour and material selection really shows, especially in the statement wallpaper we chose which adds personality while still feeling classic. The shower also stands out as bright, clean, and spa-like. Laurie was great with product sourcing and finish selections (tile, lighting, fixtures), and her process was collaborative. I was urgently looking to find a designer for our time sensitive extensive home renovation. I was blessed to have been working with Laurie. She was very understanding and accommodating. At the time I was very overwhelmed and lost, her insight, expertise, professionalism and kind nature were a GOD sent. She helped design a beautiful open space concept with lots of flow and light. She was on pointe with everything. I recommend Laurie to literally anyone and everyone who needs a designer. She’s wonderful and has exceptional taste and talent.

I found Laurie to be very pleasant to work with. She has her own style that she suggests but will work with you come up with what your style is. She is polite and helpful. Some of the design elements she came up with I would not have thought of, so I am very happy with everything. We had an idea but she brought it to life where we could not envision it. Laurie is an incredible designer. She is extremely focused, has vision and is very patient. I was nervous going into this project because it was a massive reno including kitchen and bathroom. She moved walls and completely redesigned the space. My previously small kitchen is much bigger and so much more functional! My bathroom is gorgeous!… and very zen. I would recommend her to anyone without hesitation.

Laurie was instrumental in helping with our main and guest bathrooms renovations. When we moved into our home back in 2015, we knew we would have to renovate eventually and we had somewhat of a vision. Laurie was able to define that vision and make it a reality. We had the pleasure of retaining Laurie’s services for our basement (initially a rather large, sparsely furnished and very dark space). Her talent for interior design was apparent from the beginning as she described alternatives for creating the new space. In addition, we very much appreciated her communication skills during the entire duration of the project. Laurie was very informative, supportive and also demonstrated a significant ability to anticipate our needs. Furthermore, she was very responsive to our own ideas and was easily able to integrate them into the overall picture. Laurie and her team were a pleasure to work with! Laurie took to heart my decisive personality and would help narrow some appropriate options so that we could be efficient and effective. She listened to ideas I would bring and would add her creative flair and talent to boost my ideas and/or bring a certain twist to have it all make sense. Thank you Laurie for my dream kitchen! Laurie quickly narrowed in on my style and put together a stunning design. She changed the entire layout making the kitchen more functional and it looks so much bigger. She sourced quality fixtures and chairs that were also reasonably priced. I moved into a new place a year and a half ago and couldn't rely on myself to make it feel homy. Over the last year (it took long because of supply chain issues with purchases), Laurie and team were wonderful and fun to work with, she helped me with a bedroom, dining & living area, and an office & lounge on a mezzanine floor. It feels very comfortable and perfect, I've received compliments from everyone that have visited! I appreciated that Laurie took some time to learn about me, was opinionated in the right way, incorporated into her work some core existing pieces I already owned that I wanted to keep, and the final outcome was something that blended well with my own personality and needs, especially as I have transitioned to working the majority of my time at home where work-life balance is key. I personally am not a very creative individual, engaging with her definitely felt like a blind leap of faith that I had to take, as I'd never worked with a designer before. Looking back, she is methodic in her approach, created something that was centered around my in a home, and did so through a process that you just need to trust! I highly recommend Laurie, and hope to work with her again on a future project.

When we first reached out to Laurie, we wanted to decorate a kitchen and living room around 4 paintings we purchased that meant a lot to us. She also designed a bedroom that fit with the rest of the place yet was incredibly relaxing and warm. Laurie found a way to incorporate our unique vision into our home. We truly feel like it is ours and one of a kind. When guests, friends, or family come over we always get compliments on how beautiful and tailored the elements of the home are to us and our personalities.

This was our first time working with a designer and we couldn't be happier with the outcome! From the selection of our larger pieces (sofa and chairs) to the smaller décor elements, everything has come together beautifully! Laurie has an amazing eye and brought with her so many ideas that weren't apparent to us. Due to the timing of our project, we were met with supply-chain delays but in the end we are thrilled with our beautiful rooms!

The whole project was well organized and she was extra helpful in connecting us with the all the contractors to get the project done according to the schedule. We had a vague idea of renovating our kitchen, dining room and living room but it was quite overwhelming. We are so grateful to Laurie Yapp, she helped turn our 1950s bungalow into our dream home. There were a number of issues with the current floor layout we wanted to address. Laurie came up with a few ideas/suggestions. She then came up with the design, her “ah-ha” moment! We knew this was it and we implemented exactly what she had designed. She had the vision of the space, the colors and overall flow. We are so happy with our “new” open concept home, not only is it beautiful but very functional as well. Laurie took us to her favorite stores, places we didn’t even know existed. She also provided us with websites where to shop. She helped us with the choice of tiles, paint colours, hardwood floors, etc… Right there was great value. She brought in her team (contractor, cabinet maker, floor specialist) that she trusts and works with. Throughout the project, there were ups and downs and she was very efficient at managing our emotions and expectations!

Laurie is a designer that we really enjoy working with. She turned our dark 70's looking cottage into a bright and beautiful lake-house. After our first meeting, with photos and ideas she requested from us she quickly understood what we were looking for. With her color scheme she was able to pull together three floors that flow seamlessly. She respected our requests and re-purposed furniture and items where possible. She was also very considerate of our budget and found us excellent quality furniture and accessories where necessary and less expensive items where less important. Now we love going to our cosy cottage and look forward to our next project with Laurie!

Laurie is a fabulous designer, she relates so well with her clients and strives to achieve the look and feel they want ultimately creating the perfect space. She has an excellent eye for detail and giving the room a little extra touch that brings everything together. She is great at finding wonderful new furniture to spark up your area; but, Laurie, also has the ability to work with what you have to create a whole new look for your room, she then throws in some new additions and suddenly a new look is made!
