Born and raised in the Seattle area, Laura began working on interior design projects in the nineties and enjoyed “fixing things up” on weekends. Living by Laura was founded, and has been remodeling homes for over twenty years now. Laura enjoys working with older homes and mid-century northwest style. World travels have influenced and enhanced her eye for design. Many styles of the Pacific Northwest come from Japanese and Scandinavian heritage, but we will work towards your unique vision. "I begin my design process with an inspirational piece from my client —perhaps a teacup, a photo, a special gift, an heirloom— then move toward a personalized solution of function and beauty." With an eye towards maximizing function in small & surprising spaces, Laura loves to utilize simple solutions to solve large working issues. Laura was exactly what we needed! Our 1981 rambler needed another update. Laura asked the right questions about what we like, what we don't like, and how we use our home. She was a wealth of information and samples. Once selections were made, Laura arranged all the subs, and created a realistic timeline. In the end, we were on budget, met the timeline and are extremely pleased with the gorgeous results.

Laura helped me to design a new kitchen layout. My kitchen is much improved in efficient use of space and easily accommodates 2-3 people working together. Laura also helped me to pick all the materials. It was so helpful to have a professional help guide me especially with colors. She and her assistant, Paige, listened to my ideas, contributed their own ideas and the result is that I absolutely love my kitchen! I have not seen another kitchen that I like better than my own.
