McMorrow Construction

I am two years into an addition with McMorrow that was supposed to take four months. I have tradespeople calling me, saying they have not been paid, even though I made those payments on the contract to McMorrow. McMorrow has never met a deadline, has never planned anything in advance, and could not manage a project the size of a 5th grade diorama. He would be gone for weeks and months without reasonable explanation, and when he would return he'd come cap in hand asking for more money. On more than one occasion he blamed delays on me and my not wishing to pay in advance on a percentage of the contract that was still not completed. He used unskilled workers and could not maintain professional relationships with the tradespeople. When I signed the contract with McMorrow in September 2016, he was a member of the BBB, the Construction Association, the Homebuilder's Association, and had been written up in Saskatoon's "Home" magazine and FineHomes Saskatoon. I had obtained satisfactory reviews from two previous customers and met his project managers (first Niall then Steve Moon). Yet, none of that protected me.

I had a small bathroom reno that involved removing and replacing our old tub, drywall and bathroom window. We also had them replace our exterior doors. I thought the guys were friendly, and when I approached them with concerns I felt that they listened and addressed them appropriately. I would have appreciated a little more communication initiated by them about the status. A few times they left and gave no indication if they would be coming back later, tomorrow, or ever. Overall I am satisfied with the work and would consider McMorrow Construction for future projects.
