Polymath Studio

We worked with Sean and Oliver in designing an addition so that we could live on one level in our existing three story house. It includes a bedroom, a walk in closet, a large bath and a laundry room. The design was challenging as there was a setback from the neighboring property that had to be respected and the room is elevated with a complex roof and supported by posts. We wanted it to visually integrate with the exterior of the house and to have sight lines to take advantage of the best views. Sean and Oliver had creative ideas to address the challenges; they met with us here and at their office multiple times, and worked with us diligently. The result is really beautiful. They were receptive to last minute changes. We are very happy with our interaction with Polymath and recommend them highly to anyone considering creative design for any type of construction.

Working with Sean at Polymath was a dream. He not only listened to our needs and created a beautiful, functional kitchen plan for us but added features we didn’t even know we wanted but now wouldn’t do without. He has a great eye for design and offers excellent options when things get tricky (as can happen when you’re dealing with an old home). We love how he managed to take our 1920s bungalow and turn it into a modern, open space that still has all the original features we love.
