McDowell Remodeling

We began work with McDowell Remodeling in late 2019 before they were purchased by Slaten. We started with remodeling a bathroom and some flooring, with thoughts of doing a full house remodel on a 1930s home. The word count on houzz.com isn't long enough to leave a proper review...but in short, we entered a contract to have McDowell/Slaten remodel our bathroom and some flooring. However, our kitchen was demo'ed without contractual or verbal agreement (we lived remotely, and were SHOCKED when they told us), which rendered it unlivable. We exited our contract with a demo'ed kitchen, a demo'ed bathroom (with a bunch of poor workmanship that had to be completely re-done by the next contractor), demo'ed floors, and a large invoice to pay. Everything about our experience with McDowell was wonderful, but as soon as Slaten took over the project, it became a living nightmare that we tried hard to escape as soon as we could. We advise against any family from doing business with Slaten.

I hired McDowell for Roofing, Gutters, and Siding. My siding and gutters were original (40+ years old), and my roof was 20+ years old. After talking and receiving quotes from three local businesses, I chose McDowell for my project. They were very professional and knowledgeable throughout the planning process, offering several recommendations for the facade of my house to add character and curb appeal. They took the time to understand my needs and budget. They were responsive to all questions I had before, during, and after the project. They showed up on time and left the site clean when they were finished. They took the time to do things the RIGHT way, not cutting corners. We ended the project within a few dollars of the original estimate. I am very pleased with the results and have received many compliments.

We would definitely recommend Bob McDowell and his team for your home remodeling projects. We hired McDowell to replace our roof, siding, windows, front door, and renovate our front porch. His whole team were professional, courteous, and friendly. Bob offered many suggestions on how to add details to our home that we hadn't even thought of. We appreciated his many years of experience in the business. We are so very happy with the new look of our home. It brings a smile to our face every time we pull into our driveway.

When my husband and I decided to add a sunroom onto our house, we ask for recommendations, and decided on McDowell. They are local and have been around for a long time. We have been so happy with every aspect of the project. They are very professional, and made sure we were made aware of each part of the construction of our sunroom. Any concerns and questions we had were answered promptly. Great company and are very happy with the our new sunroom. It is beautiful......We highly recommend them.

McDowell Remodeling did my entire kitchen remodel. I was very happy with their work. Their entire team is very professional, they always responded to my calls and emails quickly and completed the project on time. I would definitely use them again for any remodeling projects I have.

We've been using McDowell since moving to the area in 1989 and every project, (from the original siding - window replacement, the room addition & kitchen remodel in 2009 to the recent flooring change and minor bathroom update), has all been done at a high level of quality. The crew always shows up when promised and clean up completely before they leave. You may find someone a little cheaper, but you'll get what you pay for with McDowell and it will look great. When we need anything else McDowell will be out first call, (maybe the only call).

I would recommend McDowell for any remodeling job. From the designer to the construction crew, everything was top notch. I had a relatively small job compared to some I've seen going on in the neighborhood. But I needed it done and presentable in about 2 month's time since we were also planning a wedding and a rehearsal dinner which would be at our home. They got it done - at least to a usable and presentable degree (some of the finishing touches took a little while longer) on schedule and even filled in with work we needed done in other parts of our home. The construction crew, painters, electricians, and general manager were very professional and didn't leave until any and all issues were resolved.

We are so pleased with our new kitchen renovation. Working with the McDowell team was a very enjoyable experience. From beginning to end, they were professional, organized and on time. Exceptional quality. I highly recommend McDowell Remodeling for your next remodeling project.

The person that was coming out to give me an estimate showed up about 30-40 minutes late, however, she did call to inform me of that. She did her thing - took measurements, asked me what I was looking for, etc...then never heard from anyone again. She told me she should have a quote to me the following week. After 2 weeks I called in and talked to the receptionist who informed me that either she or the lady that came out would call me back that day. They finally did. At 5 minutes to 5pm. She then told me they didn't want to give me a quote. They basically wasted my time. I would highly recommend everyone stay away from this company.

Bob McDowell & his team of experts have transformed our home. He has helped us create more living and storage space, and added value to the house. McDowell Remodeling has completed several jobs at our home over the last 12 years from small jobs replacing an outside door to a complete kitchen remodel. This company has the highest level of integrity I have ever been exposed to in the service industry; my husband and I were totally comfortable giving them access to our home and lives. They respect your privacy and do everything to work within your schedule; once they begin a job it is done efficiently and expertly at all levels. Our kitchen remodel was magnificent and far beyond what we had hoped for...Bob McDowell takes tons of time with his clients to select unique finishes, appliances, cabinets etc. Beyond doing fabulous work...McDowell employees went above and beyond their job requirements when in our home everyday...leaving the job site immaculate, bringing in garbage cans when out, letting the dog out while we were away. I trust this company, all the employees and subcontractors to do a outstanding job every time and YOU can too!

We completely enjoyed working with this very experienced, professional company. Great thought went into our project by them and all bases were covered with nothing left out. We now have a beautiful new room that our whole family love to be in.
