We are currently working with Renata on the estimating and design phase of renovating our entire 1950 era house as well as doing a master suite addition. It is going to be a huge investment for us which in itself is scary, but just to give our background, we are also coming off a bad experience with a previous contractor where we lost our first installment when he passed unexpectedly. We subsequently interviewed probably a dozen contractors without finding anyone we felt we could trust, or with a solution for the problems our house presented. When we found Renata we were so impressed with her comprehensive and innovative view of the design and fit for the house that we hired her. She was very warm, down to earth, and understanding and empathetic with our situation. And, she truly has a gift for design. Almost immediately she was able to see how taking down some walls and opening up the interior could change the entire flow and feel of the house, in a way that would feel organic to the house. Her design for the addition is functional, beautiful and fits with the rest of the house. She intently listened to us in the estimating phase and has really guided us through our many worries and questions and revisions. Her estimates have been thorough and meticulous, and she has foreseen many things we have not thought about. We had an amazing experience working with Renata from Decasa Designs on our indoor playroom. Renata did a wonderful job transforming my home office from a dark, heavy space into a bright, inviting, and functional environment. She managed the entire project—from sketches of space, decor/furnishings selection (desk, rug, light fixture, custom curtains) and paint selection. The new color palette of cream/white, light blue, and sage green completely changed the atmosphere, making it a pleasure to work in and comfortable for guests. The lighting is beautiful, and her custom artwork selection added the perfect finishing touch. Pricing was reasonable and aligned with the budget she initially suggested. There were a few items that required callbacks with her contractors (some with limited English), which required a little extra scheduling coordination but in the end everything came together beautifully, and I’m very happy with the result! I would highly recommend Decasa Designs and hope to work with Renata again to transform additional rooms which are outdated and needing a fresh look!

Renata did an excellent job on our kitchen! I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she delivered exactly what I wanted on time and on budget. So far, so smooth. Called Decasa Designs after speaking with other firms and Renata was a fresh breeze of possibilities for our 1980’s kitchen. Having never done a renovation she graciously spent time on the phone, then in person explaining the process, which included Renata’s design ideas, lots of measuring, written estimates/proposals that culminated into drawings, and a thorough contract with schedule of draws. We appreciated having all of this laid out as a plan before starting any work. All subcontractors, I think seven to date, have been timely and especially respectful. Renata and her team did an amazing job remodeling our old basement. They took a kitchen and bathroom from the 70s and turned it into a stunning modern in-law suite. They also combined two tiny bedrooms into a perfect-sized master suite. Throughout the project, Renata and her team were responsive, clear, and amazing all around.

Was delighted to find a designer that I felt would listen to me, tell me where I should and not spend my money and create a unique design that would definitely accommodate our family and lifestyle, while ensuring it was aesthetically pleasing to my own style and taste. I gained a rapport and trust with Renata quickly, allowing me an opportunity to explore designs outside of my traditional safety zone. I can't wait to start my next project!!

On the whole, Decasa did a good job with our renovation/remodel. We had a guest house on our property that needed a lot of work. (Most of it had to be replaced and brought up to code.) We reached out to several companies for quotes, and Decasa came in with the best offer and a designer that seemed legitimately interested in the project. Renata had a lot of great ideas about the new layout. She took our desires and molded them into something even better. Her team did a great job getting all the big fixes done. There were a few issues along the way — some of which I attribute to delays caused by a permit problem, so Decasa deserves a little leeway there. Still, the project ended up a little rushed at the end. Some things got damaged, and they were (mostly) fixed, but the fixes were not as high quality as the initial work. We’ve heard a lot of renovation horror stories. So, while we can’t say the project was smooth sailing or that communication was always clear and timely, we can say that we’re happy with the end result, and the stress was manageable. All in all, Decasa is worth reaching out to for your next renovation.

Renata has a fabulous taste selecting finishes for the design. I love my home. I was extremely busy, so I let Renata select a lot of the materials and she understood my style very well. I feel my house really reflects me and I am enjoying it so much everyday.

We recently used Renata and team to do a full design and build out of our unfinished basement (over 1500 sq ft). From day 1, Renata was great to work with - came with great ideas, listened to our views, communicated frequently and was an ease to work with. We investigated many other firms and so glad we went with Renata and her team. The estimate was fair and accurate. The subcontractors were high quality, tidy and professional. Trust the Process!!!! and trust Renata.... We just completed our home exterior paint/remodel... what a transformation! We replaced the standard color and trim (like every other house in the neighborhood) with a much more modern scheme... Peppercorn, SealSkin, Wood columns.... every detail was thought out - even down to how the gutters should blend in - thanks to Renata....What you get with Renata is the expertise.... We did a complete internal remodel with her 3.5 years ago and we trust her so much, that we asked her to do the exterior...

Renata is the best of the best. This is the second time we've used her to remodel and refurnish a part of our home and I feel 100% comfortable referring her to friends and family. Most recently, she totally redid our fireplace façade and added a wet bar and wine fridge for entertaining. She has a great eye for quality materials and timeless design. She is trustworthy, patient and fair. And most importantly, she does great work. I thought I loved my home before but I love it even more now!

Renata has two great qualities that are essential in designing a remodel. 1) She has the vision to take your current space and make it work better for you within the footprint and 2) she knows the costs and pitfalls of remodeling and can help you figure out how your remodel could work within your budget. Renata came out and helped me determine whether a full house re-model was feasible within my proposed budget and timeframe. Her ideas during the walk-through helped me both imagine what the space could become and helped me decide that a remodel of my home was both feasible and possible within my budget. Renate was recommended to me by a close friend and my friend's experience and my first experiences with her demonstrated to me that she is a contractor that you can trust to do a fantastic job.

Renata is a joy to work with! We purchased a home in Georgia, but were out of state for the reno project. It was a whole house remodel and needed an experienced, organized expert with a vision. Renata was our first choice, but due to circumstances, she was booked when we originally contacted her. After 2 very bad experiences and a few wasted months with sub-par "contractors", I reached back out to her in desperation. Fortunately some of her projects were finishing up and she was able to have an initial conversation with us. When I was sure she could help, it was a relief. After we started working with her we knew we made the right choice. She is managing the details and designed a renovation that we would never have thought of. She keeps us in the loop as things progress, and sends us pictures so we can get an idea of what is going on. She is very responsive and knows what she is doing. We are almost half way through the project and can't wait to see it all come together. Working with her helps us to appreciate her knowledge and experience. Would highly recommend her!!

Bottom Line: Two enthusiastic thumbs up; but Decasa is definitely for an intermediate renovator. Decasa Designs remodeled my kitchen, deck, office space, and bathroom…and added a half bath. I really appreciated Renata’s enthusiasm in the early stages and her excellent eye for design. She is quite talented. I thought her team quickly got a sense of my style and respected it. Decasa Designs used VERY high quality subcontractors for my projects. They were responsive, professional and skilled. I do think the company’s process is for the more experienced renovator. There were corners I couldn’t see around as a beginner and several things I’d have added to the work now that I know what’s involved in the construction. Lessons learned. Overall, I am very satisfied with all of my new spaces!

Decasa Designs did a full master suite remodel for me last year. The bathroom was completely gutted, a wall in the closet was taken out, and everything reconfigured. I am design-challenged, but Renata took care of everything from floorplan to helping me choose flooring and fixtures, to paint colors! She completely transformed my bedroom, bathroom, and closet. She managed all of the contractors, ensuring things were being done properly, was super responsive to any text, call, or email, and generally treated my house like it was her only job. I cannot recommend her enough for design and remodel work. I adore my new space and almost can't believe it's mine. We are very pleased with the end result of our full kitchen reno! Renata had some great suggestions and things turned out totally beautiful. The workers who were in our home were all very skilled and very nice. I have been planning this reno for 14 years, and it turned out even more gorgeous-er than I could have imagined!

I have been dreaming about remodeling our kitchen for aver 10 years. When we were finally ready to get started, I reached out to Renata at Decasa designs. She and her crew have done an amazing job! We gutted the whole thing and started from the ground up. Renata did a wonderful job of helping us with ran amazing design and then bringing that into reality. We love it and I am so happy that we trusted our home to Decasa Designs!

We contacted Renata to transform our 1987 house into the modern age of 2021. After spending 8 years here, we thought we had an idea of what we wanted to do in terms of new layout and kitchen. However, Renata dreamed up a bigger plan than we could have imagined for our house and after seeing the initial plans, my husband and I were both enthusiastically a yes! We ended up taking out the backstairs which was very nerve-wracking to consider (now we have another living room area and it's so much better btw!), knocked down 2 walls and making our sunroom into a dining room. I am not kidding when I say that I never would have thought of the new design plan we're in and it has FAR exceeded our expectations. We finally have the open, concept layout we wanted plus a much more functional layout/design. We also have added on remodeling our master bath, back patio, wet bar, and powder bathroom area to project scope as well. I am at the point where I basically just tell Renata "you pick what you feel is best" because I trust her. She has a solid process in place and once we started demo, we have been on track for schedule and timing. The whole process of re-designing any part of your house is nerve wracking but if you work with Renata, not only will she dream up something beyond your wildest dreams, she values your input as the client. We had a pleasant experience with Renata. I strongly recommend her. We specifically looked to hire someone with a vision to update our house. We had found several other contractors that were cheaper, but they lacked the vision and creativity that Renata had. Our project specifically was to modernize our living room. Renata had some very creative solutions. Specifically, she blocked out the windows arches in our living room, created sharp corners in the support columns, and she also used very thick floating bookshelves. Photos would only do this justice, but individually these all seem like a bold aggressive look, but together, our entire house flows together. My only specifically complaint is that her team did not remember to frost out our windows from the interior, but otherwise, our house looks splendid. I still give her a 5 stars because I do sincerely believe in her work. Our future projects include the kitchen and the bathrooms and we certainly hope to work with her again.

Renata and her team at Decasa Designs have been great to work with! She has been very professional, she listens and communicates well and is very responsive. Right from the beginning she laid out the process and how the design work, quotes, revisions, materials selection and the demo and installation schedule would flow. She gathered our needs and provided a great design - that made us think about how we actually used our kitchen and various prep and storage needs. We never felt rushed, she makes sure she has answered our questions, and was very gracious with our requests and modifications as we went through the design and quote process. She gave us good ideas throughout, it was a very comfortable process and we have a design that feels custom to our needs. We are very excited about going through the the demo and installation work to see the final results!

Renata created a wonderful design for our very unique living room. She listened to the needs and wants of our family and created a functional family-friendly room. Highly recommended!

We had an outdated bathroom with an awkward layout that we wanted to update. We also wanted to enlarge our closet. We interviewed a few people but they weren't a good fit for us. Renata came in and gave us her suggestions. There is a small unfinished storage space next to the closet and we were thinking of expanding the closet to that area. She advised us against it because we would be paying a lot of money for only one extra foot. Rather, she suggested, we should expand into our bedroom and she assured us we wouldn't miss that space. And she was right. We have a fabulous updated bathroom with a boutique as a closet. Her closet maker did a great job. Our bedroom also got a fresh makeover with a new design layout and freshly painted walls to transition seamlessly into the bathroom. The design process took three to four months to lock down what we wanted. Renata and her design team actually created three different floorplans for us to choose from and then we went from there. After we nailed down the big items (countertop and tile selection, color of bathroom cabinets, and tub style), all the other pieces came into place. Construction didn't start until all materials were delivered. This was a great approach because her crew was in and out in four weeks. It was incredible how fast and efficient they were. They were on site six days a week. They were professional, courteous, and fast. It was a full service job with design, construction, and clean up. Clean up was key as there was a lot of dust and debris. Her cleaning crew did a great job of not only cleaning the space were construction took place, but also the other areas where dust was tracked through. Overall working with Renata and her team was positive. Doing construction during a pandemic with her crew was not an issue as they all wore a mask when in the common areas of my home. Were there a few issues that came up during the construction process? Yes, but they were resolved quickly and amicably. Communication is key and she was always available to chat via email/text/or phone. She'll reply to your 8pm texts just as quickly as your 9am emails. She's full service and I highly recommend her.

This review is probably going to get me lots of phone calls and emails; however this is all true with photos attached. We had the pleasure of working with this team during Covid so I’m going to put some of the blame on the pandemic. I cannot say one good thing about this company, they showed up whenever they wanted to, didn’t show when they said they were, always some sort of discrepancy with money/change orders, the quality of the work is beyond poor. Unsealed cracks, poor caulking, crappy plumbing, and horrible craftsmanship. After the renovations were done we still had to hire 3rd-party people to come in and fix the work of her subcontracts. We actually are under contract to fix the bathroom all over again due to a serious leak in our shower that now is leaking through our ceiling downstairs. Renata and her team are nothing but excuses and disappointment; not sure how any of these other reviews are real. Attached are photos of the crappy work she really did not the staged stuff she chooses to show.

Renata was fantastic in helping us finish a partial basement and setup a basement bar/kitchenette. We met with a few design/build companies. Renata's prices were good, but the part that sold us was her help in envisioning the space, very helpful suggestions for better utilization of the space, and her flexibility in working with our busy schedules. Renata and her team have great ideas, but they were also great about working around what we really desired for he space as well. She has strong and helpful suggestions, but is not pushy. So it worked well for us because we had a specific plan but we needed a lot of guidance for the details. She was able to meet or chat very early and very late. This was extremely helpful in being able to keep moving forward (instead of having to wait for a time from 8-5 when everyone was free simultaneously). The space looks great, and it is both functional and beautiful, just as we hoped.

We hired Renata for our kitchen and living room fireplace renovation. She has a great sense of color tones, textures, and what goes well together. She had a strong vision and that is what drew us to Decasa at first! After discussed with her, we decided to go with two-tone cabinets. She gave us a great idea to open up the old kitchen gallery and they came out amazing! We also had Renata add hardwoods in all the bedrooms and painted the whole house, both came out wonderful as well. The hardwood floor stain matches perfectly with the old hardwood floor. The house no longer looks dated at all. In all, the project turned out great! Definitely come back for our master bathroom update.

I hired Decasa Designs because I wanted to update my condo but needed help coming up with a cohesive design and plan. I also needed someone who could manage the logistical complications of doing a remodel project in a high-rise condo building. After meeting Renata and reviewing some of her other condo projects on Houzz I was confident that I had found the right person. Renata helped me narrow the scope to full kitchen renovation, reflooring, repainting, & small updates in the bathrooms to get maximum impact out of my available budget. She met with me multiple times to nail down the design choices and solve a problem with the existing kitchen layout. She had some great ideas that I wouldn’t have thought of, including shrinking a closet to gain kitchen space, using floor to ceiling backsplash tile to make the kitchen feel bigger, and combining wood paneling with built-in cabinetry to turn a column and nook into a TV feature wall. When it came time for construction, Renata worked around COVID-19 related HOA access policies and kept things progressing. I am very happy with the final product. The kitchen looks amazing and is more functional, the new lighting makes a huge difference, and the TV wall turned out better than I had hoped! My friends and neighbors have been very impressed. My unit has gone from dated and worn out to one of the best in the building, and that would not be so without Renata and Decasa Designs.

We bought a 100-year old house with a 30 year old master bedroom addition. We knew we wanted to totally reconfigure the space for a 2020 lifestyle. Renata and Decasas Designs helped us take a cavernous, but under-utilized, bedroom, a tiny closet, barely suitable for one, and an out-dated bathroom and totally rearrange the whole thing. Everything came down to the studs and in it’s place is a larger modern bathroom, a closet fit for two and a smaller, but still ample, bedroom. Renata has an admirable “can do” attitude about all the little hiccups that are inevitable in a 100 year old house remodel. Her team is industrious, trust-worthy and respectful. We are so pleased with the end-result we’re trying to decide which area of the house we should tackle next!

On our first meeting, she gave me the confidence that all we envisioned could be done within our budget. We appreciated her timely communications from first phone call to completion of the renovation. Have to highlight that our total condo renovation came during the COVID shut-down. While some ordered items could not be delivered, Renata found suitable substitutes and kept our project on track. I used decasa designs to renovate my kitchen. I am totally satisfied with the whole process. Renata and her team was very detailed oriented and did an awesome job. 15 months ago, my husband and I decided to tear down a small cabin on a lot we purchased at Lake Lanier to build our dream home. We had carefully selected a builder that a friend had used. But I had worked with Renata in my previous home and loved the end result, so I contacted her before we started our project. And boy am I glad I did! Renata made suggestions regarding our floorplan before we even laid the foundation. Things that would be difficult to change once the house was already built, such as switching which side our master vanity and shower would be on based on the natural light coming into the room. Adding a window in our kitchen, master bath and mudroom hallway. Making a “nook” in our bedroom versus a nook in our family room so the walls would be symmetrical around our fireplace. And that was just the beginning! Renata’s design skills supported us every step of the build. She made sure that our builder gave us everything we wanted in our dream home, and did not just build the “status quo”. She supported us to make sure we kept on budget, yet got the results we wanted. Some examples of her support were making sure we kept the sliding glass doors surrounding our upper level to get our desired “lake house” look even though they were going to cost slightly more, (we would make up the cost somewhere else), putting cedar beams along our ceiling line instead of cutting across the family room window as the builder was accustomed to doing, and working with us on our kitchen layout to make sure it was functional as well as spectacular. Our builder’s plan was to have upper cabinets back to back and take up all available wall space. With Renata’s help, we removed several uppers, added floating shelves and made more room around the hood to showcase a spectacular counter to ceiling backsplash! This is one of our favorite design features in the house! Renata also guided us through kitchen and bathroom tile and granite selection. Another favorite design feature is the marble waterfall feature on our kitchen island and granite curb around our master bathroom shower. She also made sure our exterior looked exactly the way we wanted. Our builder’s usual look is a bit heavy handed with stone work. We wanted a simpler, more modern farmhouse look. She helped us navigate the delicate balance between builder and designer to get the exterior look we desired. Another important part of her design plan was our lighting. With Renata’s help, my husband and I choose the “jewelry” of our home, as she calls it! We are absolutely in love with our light fixtures. These are not your average DIY store fixtures. The most stunning being the main fixture at our front entryway, lanterns around the exterior of our home and kitchen pendants. Wow! My kitchen demo and renovation is complete and it could have never been done as seamlessly and beautifully without Renata Borges-McDonald! I moved from Florida a few months ago and bought a fabulous home in the Druid Hills/Morningside area. The house was amazing except the closed in Galley Kitchen was not working for me. I called several Design Build companies for estimates and when I met Renata I knew she was the right person to help with my vision to open up the kitchen and make it everything I wanted, and I was right! From our first meeting after the estimate, Renata was on the ball making things happen immediately. She was right on target with her timeline and now, here I sit in my new open kitchen/family room writing this review! Renata’s subs were all great and completed their work professionally. We used Decasa Designs for a limited kitchen renovation. We had the cabinets re-faced and had a new backsplash installed. We love the new look and enjoy some of the functional upgrades that were done as well. She was extremely helpful, quick to answer questions, and has a natural ability to use existing pieces and make what was into something so much better!! I used Renata with Decasa Designs to gut and remodel the master bath. Renata helped me choose the appropriate materials for the look that I wanted, and most importantly, kept me within budget. When we started the project, Renata promised that I would have the master bath exactly as I wanted it and she delivered. She dealt with all the subcontractors and insured that they weren't done until I was completely satisfied. I started the bathroom remodel thinking that I could design it for myself but I could never have achieved the look I wanted without Renata's knowledge and experience.

We are so lucky to have found Renata! When we first made the decision to remodel our kitchen, we were feeling overwhelmed and had no idea where to start. This is our first remodel project! After my first conversation with her, I felt at ease and had a much clearer understanding of what to expect (and that was before we even hired her!). At a minimum I was looking for a GC who could provide quality work, stick to to the schedule, and be transparent about costs and any changes to cost or schedule. We found all that with Renata and much more. She has been very accessible - always available to answer questions and provide input or suggestions. I don't think I ever waited more than 2 minutes for a response! So far we've been very happy with the promptness and quality of work done by her team. We are in the final stretch of our project - countertops being delivered today - and though I haven't yet seen the finished product, I have full confidence it's going to exceed my vision. I can't wait to share the after photos and update my review with more great things.

Renata and I worked together to edit my foyer and stairwell - installed hardwood floors and risers as well as wainscoting and new stair railing and posts. I found Renata through Houzz, ironically, while there to check out another interior designer, and couldn't be happier with her work. She is smart, accessible, and reliable. Recently, I experienced some flooding and have been working with two insurance companies to navigate the claim that will require significant repairs. Renata has been a responsive partner to me in this process, even taking the initiative to work directly with the insurance adjusters to craft the claim. I appreciate her lighthearted, but frank style and look forward to working with her on our upcoming projects!

Where do I start!! My now husband purchased a home in Roswell about 2.5 years before I relocated to the area. It is an older home that needed lots of renovations. We were living in an apartment at the time and instead of paying rent and a mortgage we decided to move into the unfinished home. The only thing complete was the bathroom. This is where we should have hired Renata from the very beginning because I had never remodeled a home before. After we finally had most of the construction done I was not satisfied with the home décor I had picked out. So I asked Renta to come in and help us finish the downstairs area (living room, dining area, and breakfast nook). She is amazing!! My husband is an engineer and works on his computer all night but refuses to work at a desk so our living room was always super messy with his paperwork. When Renta came in I told her I wished we had a basement to hide his mess away. She quickly suggested making our breakfast nook that is off the kitchen (and we never use) my husband's "work area". Best idea ever!! She moved his recliner in there with a TV and he is out of the way and no one sees the mess when they first walk in our home. Also our dining room was super dark as there is only one window. She gave me numerous ideas to brighten the area. We put up bead boarding and added a barn door with a mirror to bounce light around. I would have Never thought of that. Instead of being involved in picking out the things she had in mind for our house I just gave her a budget and told her I trusted her opinion. In her initial walk thru of the house she got an idea of the style of home we were trying to achieve. And boy did she deliver!!! She did such an awesome job that my husband has agreed to let her come back and finish our foyer and update our master bedroom. And I can't wait to see the finished results because I know it will be so beautifully done!! She pays attention to little details that I would have never thought of and transforms the space. Like I said I really wished we would have included her from the start of our renovations because I can only imagine how much better the house would look with her touch! And an added bonus is that she is super fun to work with!!

Renata remodeled the farmhouse that I purchased this last year. The project brought a host of challenges due to the fact that the property is located in a rural location, the client (myself) is remote (I live full time in San Francisco), and the scale of the project was massive - we did a full remodel of all of the living spaces (living room, sunroom/porch, front-porch, kitchen, powder room, 3 bedrooms and an upstairs jack-and-jill bath. Renata was very resourceful throughout the project, she leveraged her many subs to keep the project moving along which was not an easy task given the many moving pieces and the fact that I was often hard to reach due to a hectic work/travel schedule. I am extremely pleased with the outcome, the place is absolutely gorgeous! Renata made several recommendations that added character to the existing good bones of the house including a built-in bookshelf, a barn door, new double windows on the front of the house and dramatic french doors that walk out to my updated sunroom/porch/office space. Given the scale of the project and the fact that the location is in the boonies and I was remote, I think Decasa Designs did an incredible job, especially considering the price. Renata is very budget conscious and was able to find more affordable solutions to the expensive look I wanted to achieve. As an example, I selected a lavish set of rustic vanities from Restoration Hardware (as well as bath fixtures and hardware) and she had her carpenter build custom vanities instead that I like much better than the RH ones and were half the price. She also was able to accommodate many of my last minute additions to the project (I wanted dimmers in every room, I added a full mirrored wall last minute to the bathroom, I had to have the front-porch siding redone, you get the idea). I quickly earned the title of "Upgrade Queen". I'm giving Decasa Designs 4 stars instead of 5 because the one area that I felt needed improvement was the project organization and change management. As an example, some details were lost in translation between myself and Renata due to imprecise communication and we did lose time on the project as a result. There were lights misplaced, we lost some cooktop burners, tile was placed in the wrong orientation (it still looked okay but wasn't exactly what we discussed), multiple times the property was left unlocked and unattended with the air on full-blast. I attribute most of these oversights due to the challenge of me being remote and also the property being in a rural location so not easily accessible to Renata. I also know she is juggling many projects at once. My recommendation to future clients is to prepare to help out with keeping tasks lists organized and following up on loose ends. You will need to work lock-step with Renata week to week. The end result was well worth the hard work and I'm extremely pleased with Renata's work overall and recommend her to clients that are well versed in project management and design.

Renata was a pleasure to work with! She helped me renovate a 3br/2ba 1950s ranch-style home that desperately needed updates, and made it look beautiful. She took the time to patiently listen while helping me navigate the multitude of choices for color, material, etc. The renovation included removing walls and refinishing the hardwood floors. Because we were taking out a couple walls to open up the kitchen, it included adding new hardwoods to match the sixty-year-old existing hardwood floors, and they did an amazing job making it look consistent and seamless. We also kept the antique cast iron tub, and refinished it, which is a nice touch to honor the history of the home. Now I have a more open space, a new kitchen and two new bathrooms. I would definitely hire Renata again!

We hired Renata to help us envision an extension of our kitchen/dining room. We thought she did an exceptional job of disrupting our preconceived notion of how the space had to be and introduced us to a beautiful design that better fit the flow and purpose of our project. Unfortunately the cost to build our dream ended up being higher than we hoped, so we had to abandon the build of the project, but she exceeded my expectation of designs what could have been.

Renata has been my Savior!!! She just recently renovated my master bath and hall bath, plus had hardwoods installed in my upstairs hallway and master suite. It all turned out sooooo beautiful. She did the entire design, I didn't have to make a single decision, just exactly my goal! Her team of professionals were a dream to work with also. I highly recommend her services.

Using Renata @ Decasa Designs - She really does handle it ALL.... big advantage is that she understands and manages design AND construction... It is a fairly large project - New Deck, 10ft Sliding doors, Kitchen, Living Space, Family room addition, Lighting plan, Pantry, Laundry room, Floors.... Just to share how 'she gets it', we accepted her first design rendering of the space - which is quite remarkable....(and and we are very particular!!)... Very personable - and the trust means that you have someone that "has your back" when it comes to choosing designs - as she does understand our tastes... She approaches projects with more than a remodel mindset - she understands the space and recommends how you can improve the space you live in. Highly recommend.

When I moved into a new house, there were some things I wanted to do to just make it feel more "mine". I didn't have a lot of money to really do large scale renovations so I knew I had to be smart with the budget I did have. I met with a couple of designers but really felt Renata's personality was such a great fit and looking through her portfolio I felt she could really understand my design aesthetic and what I was looking for. Overall, I then hired her and her team to reface a fireplace and an accent wall, install a built in cabinet next to that, paint the majority of the house and update and install overhead lighting within the main living areas of the home. The project has turned out beautifully and I can't say enough about how happy I am with the finished project. The subs she brought in were very courteous and made sure to clean up at the end of each day as well. While no renovation project goes without hiccups, I would say the largest drawbacks to this project were having an electrician who could only come on the weekends. (I preferred to have the work done while I was out of the house at work) and the tile mason struggled with the 3D tile we selected. I think there were just a couple of items I didn't know I would find important until they were encountered through the process. Overall, I think the only piece of this project I would have changed is to have someone who was more skilled with this type of tile perform that piece of the work as we ended up having to re-do this part almost 3 times. I was super impressed with the painters though as well as the sub who built the custom cabinet for the side of the fireplace. They were polite, extremely efficient, and the impact to the overall space was enormous. Overall, I would absolutely hire Renata again as she was respectful of the budget, helpful in making sure we scoped the project right from the start (as to eliminate any change orders), and kept everyone on task and on timeline.

We walked into this kitchen project knowing that it could cost us either $1k or $20k, and, after looking & meeting with over 10 other contractors, my husband and I FINALLY met Renata and knew that all of our searching was worth it to finally have found her. We had a leaky faucet that had essentially ruined the cabinetry beneath, but since the house was so old and the issue had been going on for so long, at minimum we would have to remove the entire unit. The previous owner had tried to make upgrades, but the quality was more than lacking. Without going into details, plus the age of the house and size of the appliances (aka they were tiny!), we had dilemma of doing a cheap patch or removing all the cabinets to reconfigure the space to fix the leak, remove the weakened cabinets and build us space for standard appliances. This obviously had a wide variety of issues and concerns from an aesthetic, financial and quality of living point of view for us. VS other contractors who could only speak confidently to one or two of the aspects, Renata came in and was comfortable addressing all 3 points of view. She understood our budget and walked around our house to understand what aesthetic we needed to keep for the overall look/flow of the house and then she masterfully recommended a handful of upgrades that makes all the difference when we use our kitchen! And that's because Renata comes from a unique background of true design and construction. She's not just there to tear down and build, she also has an eye on how to make sure its functional and looks great too! On top of that one of the traits we felt about her from the very beginning was that she was incredibly forthcoming (she told us what she felt and didn't waste time trying to just agree to everything) and trustworthy. These traits carried through for the rest of the project. What we didn't fully realize and appreciate until we really started the project was that she also has an excellent relationship with her subcontractors who were always incredibly neat and respectful of our house. We truly truly loved her relationship with her subcontractors. The quality of their work and how responsive they were with her made the job that much smoother. I'll never forget meeting one of her builders as he was getting ready to demo a wall, and offhand he just said 'don't worry, Renata will make this look nice'. Just stated it as a matter of fact - that stayed with us, and it proved to be so so true. Renata always made sure we were aware of the timing of efforts and listened to what we were looking for, even when we didn't know exactly what we were looking for. Our only advice was the method of communication was rushed and across multiple channels/threads that made it harder to make joint decisions or back track, but we understand she was multitasking and we are first time homebuyers who hadn't thought of a lot of details that needed to be decided on. We would absolutely use Renata again, we have a BEAUTIFUL kitchen that just feels solid, and she was able to track down these unique knobs & handles from the previous owner to keep the overall feel/vibe of the house cohesive. Would highly recommend her anyone who's looking for a small or big project!

Renata has been great. We initially hired her because we needed help with the design of a very difficult kitchen layout (we had 2 awkward doors interrupting the kitchen flow and preventing our ability to have a proper island or work space). Renata helped us think through a design and we loved her so much we decided to also go through the renovation process (we are currently under construction). She was great working within our price guidelines and helping to create a design that was pleasing and affordable.

Our dream house is finished!!! First and foremost, Renata is a hard worker and a go getter!! Renata who owns DeCasa Designs helped us fulfill out dream house vision.....We are in the Real Estate Business and have extensive knowledge of homes and the building/construction industry so after we had to fire our first builder we were even more careful and did our due diligence choosing our next builder! We decided to go with DeCasa Designs and very happy we did so! We had already referred DeCasa Designs to some of our clients in the past and knew she would build a beautiful home and do a great job however still checked her references and they were very good as well! In all honesty, it wasn't always easy, but no build is. We were temporarily living in a RV which caused extra stress to our situation. In the end any issues or concerns we had were made right. I woke up one morning at 3 a.m. and could not go back to sleep, so I went on Houzz just to see what would happen if I put my idea for my project out there. Renata replied and the rest is history. Renata is the Boss Lady. I know I did not have the biggest job ever, but to me, it was huge. Renata understood that and really made my vision happen. She took control, she kept in touch, and she managed this project seamlessly. I will always be grateful for how she handled this project. Renata is amazing at what she does! She can envision a design and implement it wonderfully. Renata was referred by a friend to assist us with rebuilding our home after a fire. After just a few meetings with Renata, it was clear that she was extremely knowledgeable about design and construction. She is very detailed oriented and worked diligently to ensure we were properly funded by our insurance company to rebuild. Renata is also a great construction and project manager. We requested that the construction was completed and that we were in our new home by mid-May and she made it happen. Something you don’t usually expect with construction projects. Renata provided us with mid to high end options for the construction and interior design, and she was very transparent about cost and she identified savings throughout the project. Renata transitioned our 80’s contemporary into a modern open floor plan with tons of natural light. In short, Renata did a fabulous job and we absolutely love our new home!

Renata was instrumental in helping us plan our renovation and helping us get through a very tough situation with a builder that was not reliable. Without her help, we never would have had finished this project in such a grand scale. We love our renovation and she had her hand in the design, planning, color scheme and is still helping us with the decorating. Renata was an excellent advisor on remodeling work for our first home. We bought a 1927 bungalow that needed a number of fixes, including some that were difficult to gauge even after an inspection. These fixes included a full replacement of the electrical system and a critical bathroom remodel. As a result, there was a high risk of the project costs exceeding the budget. Renata / Decasa Designs did a great job in helping us develop a scope of work. We ended up adding unique features to the house that we may not have otherwise while still having enough budget for the most critical items. She also has access to an excellent set of collaborators. We finished the remodel ahead of schedule and on budget. We're very happy with the end result!

WOW! It's the best word I can use to describe how I feel when I walk into my new living room! I asked Renata to re-do our living room to make it lighter and brighter, a little more modern - and she did it! Renata of Decasa Designs was recommended to me by a friend to help with my master bathroom renovation. From start to finish and everything in between, it was a pleasure to work with her. At the beginning of the project, Renata had me show her pictures of the type of look I was going for. She then provided a couple of choices of tiles and fixtures for me to choose from, and from there, she created a beautiful design for my bathroom. The look has exceeded my expectations. The project ran ahead of schedule and very smoothly, less than 2 weeks from demo to completion. All of the contractors that Renata hired were very professional and cleaned up as they went. Renata oversaw the whole project, so I didn't have to be at home while the work was being done. The cost stayed within the projected amount that was agreed upon when the contract was signed. The only additional cost which was discussed up front was an upgrade to stain-free grout and 2 fixtures that I wanted to add that weren't in the original proposal. I highly recommend Renata of Decasa Designs for your next home improvement project. My master bathroom has been transformed into a beautiful space. I plan to hire her again for additional work in my home.

I'd give more stars if I could. Decasa Design makes remodeling easy and fun (if you can imagine that). Renata is a gifted designer with a great eye. She "got" my style immediately and culled through a myriad of options before presenting her top choices. Made decision making easy. She has a great network of really talented subs and she is present onsite when they do their work. Decasa is a one stop shop. Renata takes care of solving all the problems and making sure the project stays on budget and on time. I have never enjoyed a remodel so much - and I've done enough of them to have this perspective.

Renata helped us with the design of our unfinished basement. We had some general ideas about what we wanted for the space, but she was able to guide us to a final design that we are very happy with. She is very knowledgeable and professional. We were very appreciative of her expertise and the fact that she built upon our ideas. She helped us to understand what things would work best for the space. She provided answers and explanations for all the things we weren't quite sure about and collaborated with us until we were happy.

My family and I have lived in our house for ten years. As our two boys are older now (11 years and 8 years old), we felt that it was the right time to invest into our home. In addition, we needed the house to be functional with our active life style, yet be beautiful and serve as a place that we are comfortable living in. Renata has really delivered! We now have a completely new look and feel to our main level. The boys have a designated place to do their homework, log onto the computer and read. I now have an office that is very close to the boys! Mothers need to have wandering eyes and ears! I really do feel that I am living in a new home! I now have much needed storage space in the kitchen and bathroom. The boys have designated space for their stuff. The family room feels so big and bright with the new paint colors and furniture orientation. The sunroom is bright and cheery. My entire main floor has been updated! We are so happy with our house now and even my son can't remember what our house use to look like (i.e. we don't want to remember). The way that Renata has redesigned our house is what our house is meant to be!

Ever since Decasa Designs completed my July 2016 bathroom remodel and did such fabulous job it became a painful experience walking into my old kitchen. We just moved from a two sorry home into a condo in midtown. Space was top concern and also to work with someone who could interpret my ideas into a functional and beautiful piece. We found DE CASA DESIGNS & Renata, the owner/ designer and she made this difficult project into the perfect thing. Renata designed a bi parting barn door as our entertainment closet door! It is beautiful and we love it. She has a very creative mind and that ability helped keep our costs down. It is the focal point of our living room now instead of the big , blank T.V. and we couldn't be happier. We are ready to begin another re make of our condo and can't imagine doing it without her.

Renata McDonald has done several jobs for me. The most recent one was my son's bedroom makeover. It is absolutely gorgeous! It is any child's bedroom dream! She always has the best ideas on how to add or remove a wall to make the space more functional. Her furnitures and lighting choices are amazing. I'm always satisfied with the results of her job.

Decasa Designs did an Amazing job on my living and dining room. It took just a couple of conversation about the project to Renata create a incredible space. Her ideas and vision went beyond my expectation. I was astonished when I walked into the final product.

I hired Renata as a property manager and as a designer for a rental property. Renata was the property manager for three years, from 2012 to 2015 and did a great job managing the tenants and staying on top of issues. When the tenant moved out in 2015, Renata provided design input and managed the work to get the place into selling condition. Her design guidance really made the place look great and I was able to get an offer very close to the asking price. I would highly recommend Renata as either a property manager or as a designer.

We hired Renata based on her reputation as a thorough designer. She has proven to be very thorough. She works at a good pace providing many good choices based on the interviews she did with my wife and I. She has been very available throughout the 6 month projects and not only was helpful with our accessories but also gave us solid input in the design of our new porch. She used the color schemes that we started and did a excellent job in expanding the them to choices that made it easy for us to make. I would highly recommend Renata and plan on using her on our next projects.

I hired DeCasa for a home office design. Renata and I had several meetings until the project started and although I was anxious with the details I knew based on references that she was going to perform well. The day came and when I opened up the doors I got emotional, surprise and very happy. The space was transformed into a very cozy place for me to work and receive my patients. This place added up more than I could imagined - I feel good about "going to work" everyday - even though the office is in my house when I enter it every morning makes me feel that I am in a isolated place from my home. I interviewed several contractors and remodelers before i met renata. When we met, i knew i would enjoy working with her. She is comfortable to work with, and very professional. She has great vision to see the end result of the project. She is up to date with all the new products that are currently on the market. She had great ideas, along with patience, to help guide and assist with design decisions. My master bathroom is lovely. She takes an overview of your home and makes it flow through out. I truly enjoyed working with her and hopefully will again in the future.

We did a major renovation within our master suite including, moving our master bath location to what we defined as "wasted space" beside our walk-in closet and expanded the footprint. Decasa Designs helped with the idea, vision and design. We are extremely pleased with the outcome. The process of getting there had a few bumps in the road with getting the design to also be functional, but all in all it was a great experience and we would recommend Decasa Designs.

We had our kitchen completely remodeled including new cabinets, floors, back splash, lighting etc. Renata was very helpful in designing our kitchen and fitting with out style. It turned out just the way we envisioned it!

I worked with Green Basements and Remodeling to have our basement finished and Renata was recommended as part of their design arm of the business. Renata was very responsive and professional and helped me select paint colors and made suggestions regarding some of the finishes, for example, adding another column for balance with structurally-required columns, using accent color within main area and bathroom. She also suggested a darker color within the tray ceiling and on columns. Renata suggested different furniture arrangements so we had options to choose from and selected the perfect sectional for our space. She was easy to work with as she came in person, sent emails with pictures and talked with me over the phone, as needed. I had looked at all the local furniture stores in anticipation of furnishing the new space and know that the items Renata found were at an excellent price. We wound up purchasing the sectional, a custom-covered chair, custom-covered ottoman, two end tables a console/sofa table and two great red leather stools/small ottomans for additional seating. Renata found some wonderful accent pillows to tie all the colors together. Renata arranged for all the furniture to be delivered at the same time and was onsite to receive and arrange it for us. She also had our artwork hung for us, which was so helpful. Renata also recommended Joan make custom roman shades for our three windows and door window. The seamstress needed to make an adjustment to the length of two of the shades and did an expert job onsite with no hassle. We decided the chair, which we purchased from a picture, was too hard and requested a seat cushion. Renata has worked with the manufacturer so we can add a seat cushion. Renata was great about making adjustments, if we didn't care for a color or artwork, she would ask questions to determine our taste and preferences and come back with other options that were more in line with what we wanted. I also appreciated the fact that Renata was not at all pushy. If we said that was it for the budget then she respected that. I would definitely work with her again.

I purchased my first condo a few years ago and was stumped with some design choices. I went into a store and found Renata and am glad I did. I have been using Renata's services for three years. I have benefitted immensely from her experiences and suggestions. She has made some suggestions that were outside my comfort zone but they proved to be useful and made my home that much more beautiful. She also recommended a wonderful cleaning service. I can't say it enough - Renata is awesome! I was first introduced to her through a mutual friend of ours, who knew that I had a design challenge with my home, and definitely needed some help. Renata has a consultative style that really worked for me! She took a tremendous amount of time to ask questions about how we live, how we use the space and my vision for how it would look. She challenged some of my ideas by asking many questions like “what about this” - “did you consider this” – “how could we use this space more efficiently”. We spent a considerable amount of time planning and talking before work even began. Once we had the functionality of each room determined, Renata then started to pinpoint my “style”. Even writing this is laughable because I didn’t feel that I really had a style but once she started pointing me to different types of furniture, colors and patterns, I could quickly say “yes I like that” or “no, that’s just not me”. This allowed her to get a clear feel for what I was comfortable with, and also how far she could “push” my thinking to open up to new ideas. Next she went about the task of putting together a couple of room designs on boards for me – these included pictures of furniture and fabric swatches – what fun this was! Finally we had a design that met my needs, and she set about putting it into motion. What I liked most about working with Renata is that she is not a “decorator” – she is a full scale “designer” which means that she has a team of construction and other professionals working for her – they can move walls, build furniture and do heavier structural changes. She really looks at the use of the space and tries to design it to complement how the family lives there. Renata redesigned our entire main level, but the crown jewel in the design was the family room. Our family room was drab, with many shades of beige and no definitive style whatsoever. Also, we lacked enough seating for friends and family. Renata spent many many hours working on this room and used it as the centerpiece to the entire design. She added beautiful (but comfortable) furniture that met our seating needs, eliminated unnecessary furniture pieces (armoire) to create more space, made changes to the fireplace to turn it into a visual focal point in the room, had custom drapes made and coordinated all the colors and artwork into a stunning space. Many people have walked into that room and exclaimed “this room looks like it’s from a magazine!” What I like most about the room is that it is very visually appealing BUT it’s also very comfortable and functional for our lifestyle. It’s not just a “pretty room” to look at it – we also use the space and it works for us. I love it! Finally – I could not be happier with what Renata did for our home and family! She is an amazing designer with an eye and vision like no one I’ve ever met before! She has become a close family friend throughout this process and we are so fortunate to have worked with her.

We wanted to redecorate our living room, going from mainly traditional furnishings to a more contemporary look. Renata had great, creative ideas and was able to totally change the look of the room within our budget.
