We had S Thomas Design remodel our hall bath. They replaced the tub with a walk-in shower with sliding, semi-frameless glass doors, replaced the countertop and lavatory, and painted the cabinets and walls. The tile work was absolutely beautiful and the workmanship was exceptional. We felt like Mr. Thomas did not push us to spend more than we wanted and offered helpful design suggestions. My sister who was living with us had to go on hospice about the same time we started the project and Mr. Thomas came back every night to re-hook up the toilet for her use. We were blown away by his compassion to my family. We have recommended him to friends and family and we will definitely use him again for any future remodels.

Scott helped us design and remodel a “gym” into a beautiful guest suite. First and foremost, Scott did a great job helping us settle on a design in a difficult space. His process was simple and effective, but allowed us to iterate into a solid design. We proceeded to select material and began construction in March of 2018. With a few curve balls throw in for good measure, the project was beautifully executed to our specifications. If something went wrong, Scott made it right. If something surprised us, we pivoted. With the exception of items that we selected that were more expensive than our budget allowances (our choices), the project was finished on time and on budget. A couple items - Scott’s pricing proposals are thorough and transparent. This set him apart from previous companies we’ve worked with. He takes pride in his work and sets strong standards for his subcontractors (who are the best we’ve worked with). We enjoyed working with him and will do so again in the future.

Scott's professionalism from the first contact gave me a sense of trust in his expertise. He made sure that our expectations matched from the beginning and provided a complete description of what would happen when over the specified work period. The project took exactly how long he said it would. I appreciated his excellent communication throughout the project. I would highly recommend Scott and his crew.

Scott oversaw our kitchen and 2 bathroom updates. Though we used the same footprint in all 3 rooms, Scott's industry knowledge and contacts made a difference. His focus and attention to detail were unsurpassed. The contractors he used were on time, professional and were meticulous with their craft. Scott's vision and expertise were exactly what was needed to ensure the end results met our expectations. I would highly recommend Scott for any design, remodeling, or addition project. He's a good communicator, good listener, and has a designer eye for details. We'll definitely engage him on our next project.

Unfortunately I had a very different experience. We contracted with Scott to perform a remodel for my daughter's first home's kitchen as a Christmas gift. We got through a month's worth of selecting all materials, traveling almost an hour each way, and then I received the following message from Scott related to a small tile side-job at our own home, by email, that professionally should have been by phone with a discussion: "I don't know how to quite say this but ...I spoke with Kristina at the tile store and we both agree that that much cut and exposed edge on that tile is not going to look good. We both suggest and edge of some kind" I've seen the tile work done exactly the way I requested numerous times and provided him a picture, and offered to accept the onsite advice of his tile talent, and openness to other suggestions, but that I was still looking for the solution stated "hopefully". Scott replied a week later by walking off of both projects, breaching his contractual commitment. HIs lack of communication and engagement was shocking. During that month and all materials selection trips, we only met him in person once at the initial site and once at the tile/granite meeting at the vendor's location, and by phone once. Everything else he did by text, subject to misreads and offense apparently, including when telling a client that their ideas (well established and documented) will not look good, and then reacting when the client is certain that's not the case as evidenced. I attempted numerous times to contact and remedy the situation by phone, text, and email, and was refuted; really outrageous. I finally reached him when threatening to report him to trade associations, and he went on to complain repeatedly that he had "gone out of his way" to work with us, but I called him on each of those. After only meeting once, and my wife and I doing all the legwork, his claims to be going out of his way were pure nonsense in each case. Finally, he just dug his heels in saying, "I'm not going to work with you," and was content to rest on his conduct, communications, and breach of contract. His word and contract appeared to be not worth the cost of the paper printed on.

Scott was easy to work with, and detail oriented. He has a good eye for concept, and reality to the project. We are repeat customers due to the quality and level of service and expertise he brings. He was willing to go the extra mile when It came to my project, and even went out of state to find the right materials needed. After receiving several bids the attention to detail and the service he had provided in the past made the decision easy. He took a personal interest in our project. He was onsite everyday. We felt confident in entrusting him with our home while we were away.

WE RECOMEND SCOTTS WORK TO ANYONE WANTING TO REMODEL THEIR KITCHEN. WE CHOSE HIM BECAUSE HE WAS PROFESSIONAL, PUNCTUAL AND ATTENTIVE TO OUR LIKES AND DISLIKES. HE KEPT US AWARE OF THE BUDGET, AND HE WAS ALWAYS ON SITE. WE ARE ENJOYING OUR BEAUTIFUL KITCHEN.

Scott & his team worked on my guest bathroom and I could not have been more pleased. Not only was the workmanship excellent, but the contractors showed up on time and on schedule. Scott was on the worksite every day. My job took about two weeks. Update: My master bath has now also been remodeled and I could not be more pleased. The experience was a duplicate of what I described above. I highly recommend Scott!
