Marcelo at Terranova is a very creative individual and his design and recommendations are unique. We are very happy overall with his innovative ideas for our new kitchen, master bath, solutions for our kids bathrooms (from babies to teens you need to adapt their different life styles), and our upstairs hallway floor and staircase. Marcelo found a solution to make a one Jack &Jo kids bathroom into two separate bathrooms with unique individualized design to fit my teens’ needs.

We selected Terranova Construction in 2008 to renovate and enlarge our kitchen and mudroom. We looked at several other renovation construction companies and are so glad we selected Terranova construction and design team. They are professional and provide the design guidance and advice we needed to explore ideas we hadn't thought about. The owner, Marcelo, was involved in all steps along the way and frequently stopped by to make sure all things stayed on track and met his high standards for work quality. The crews were skilled, professional, and remained on time throughout the multi-phase project. They took the time each evening to ensure the worksite was left clean and the rest of our home remained as comfortable as possible while we lived through the construction phase. We would hire them again in a heartbeat. In fact, we did.....we hired them four more times. We hired them again for our master bath and walk in closet renovation (2008), two other bathroom renovations (2009), finishing of our basement to include a bedroom, bathroom, movie room and bar (2010) and most recently, a foyer and front staircase renovation (2016). Terranova Construction, K & B, performed a complete kitchen renovation along with a refresh of our first floor. We enjoy entertaining family and friends but the original layout of our 1980’s home was stale and no longer worked well with our lifestyle. We wanted better flow and to open up the rooms for better visibility and conversation. Prior to the initial home visit with Marcelo, owner and designer, it was suggested that we review pictures of design elements to better define what we liked, which really enhanced collaboration – a picture really is worth a thousand words. Marcelo asked for our ideas and carefully listened to what we thought we liked and what we didn’t like; he then provided additional suggestions of what might work well for our home. After several home visits by Marcelo and his senior designer, Jana, we met again in their showroom to review the proposed designs – not only did they provide a plan based on our original concept, but proposed an alternative plan that made far better use of the space - it turned out to be better than we had ever dreamed. They provided a very detailed contract that included a break out of the costs and allowances based on our budget. Prior to the start of construction, we met again with Marcelo and his project foreman, Pablo, to review all the logistics involved in our project which included things such as setting up a temporary kitchen during construction; how we would like for the crew to access our home; the hours we could expect them to be here; exchanging telephone numbers, and providing contact information of neighbors in case of emergency in our absence; lavatory use, and even if we would have objections to them playing music. We were very impressed with the level of detail, and appreciated their concern of the impact the remodel would be making on our day to day lives. Our project not only included removing walls, relocating the kitchen and dining room, providing a facelift to our family room and fireplace, but also installing hardwood floors throughout the first floor, stairwell and landing. The crew was exceptionally diligent, knowledgeable, and skilled in each required trade. They arrived promptly every morning and never left without cleaning up at the end of each day. They were courteous, professional, and a joy to have in our home. Throughout the process, we were always encouraged to ask questions and to voice concerns, although we had very few. The entire office staff was so very helpful and pleasant, and Jana was always available to provide her professional design expertise – she is a true gem! Our project did go over the original timeline that had been estimated, but was beautifully completed. We couldn’t have been more delighted with the outcome and we wouldn’t change a thing.

Terranova remodeled our kitchen and powder room. Our kitchen is small, but they came up with creative designs and beautiful materials for the modern kitchen I wanted. They were flexible and good to work with, accommodating my tweaks and preferences for some things unconventional. Their construction team was top notch and did a very good job protecting the rest of the rooms from dust and dirt. Give them a try!
