This Martha's Vineyard style custom home includes many elements that establish a traditional East Coast home: white horizontal clapboard siding, tapered wood columns, shutters and red brick wainscoting. The predominantly red, white and blue color scheme honors the history of America, and a handmade American flag quilt underscores the theme. The outdoor space expands the living area, yet still feels intimate and contained.

The owners of this New Braunfels house have a love of Spanish Colonial architecture, and were influenced by the McNay Art Museum in San Antonio. The home elegantly showcases their collection of furniture and artifacts. Handmade cement tiles are used as stair risers, and beautifully accent the Saltillo tile floor.

Inspiration for a transitional bedroom remodel in Minneapolis

Stripped of its original charm with sagging floors and water leaks, this 1900 row house was prime for a full renovation. While the staircase and marble fireplace are original, everything from the white oak flooring, crown, applied, and base moldings, to the archways and brass door hardware is new; yet they all feel original to the house. Other projects included removing soffits and tucking away randomly placed support beams and posts, relocating and expanding the kitchen, renovating each bathroom – and adding a new one, upgrading all the mechanical, electric and plumbing systems, removing a fireplace, and regrading the back patio for proper drainage and added greenery. A growing young family with two daughters, this couple hired Brandi to complete their home’s interior decor. She loved working with these fantastic clients – they eagerly embraced a playful use of color and bold design choices! Finished in a colorful traditional style, this home is full of timeless architecture mixed with modern details. From a navy and bright orange office to a green floral dining room, each room on the main floor makes a unique statement but flows together through similar artwork and rugs. Upstairs, the master bedroom is a serene sanctuary. Brandi added wood beams, handmade wall coverings, and an extra custom-built closet. The two girls’ bedrooms are all about fun trends, personalized touches, and plenty of storage for their many prized possessions.

Bedroom makeover. Bed made by hand from hand-cut trees and pine board. I added lighting and feminine details to create a romantic feel as well as to balance out the rustic elements. Mirrors were used to create the illusion of more space and to enhance the glow of the lighting. The entire room was redone by rethinking existing decorations and just a few additions. Including materials to make the bed, the total redo was still under $400.
