We are so excited to share our most recent kitchen renovation with you, by one of our designers Vincent Guarino. The kitchen plans were designed with function and form in mind. The kitchen required different levels of architectural support throughout we carefully incorporated/hid posts and beams into the design aesthetic. You will notice one post between the pantry cabinet and refrigerator, an additional beam is hidden across the top behind the crown molding, and another support wall within the shallow depth pantry left of the refrigerator. Aesthetic details include painted maple Ultracraft cabinetry in Arctic White, the counters are a Q-Quartz in Calacatta Trevi, white subway tile, anchored by a gorgeous Herringbone wood floor. All appliances are the GE Café line in white with brass hardware. Additional features include entry-way cabinetry and bench complimented by a wood top, floating Poplar wood shelves in “Seagull”, a custom wood hood, floor to ceiling pantry carried through to the refrigerator, and the full design is finished with decorative paneling and crown molding.

Residing in Philadelphia, it only seemed natural for a blue and white color scheme. The combination of Satin White and Colonial Blue creates instant drama in this refaced kitchen. Cambria countertop in Weybourne, include a waterfall side on the peninsula that elevate the design. An elegant backslash in a taupe ceramic adds a subtle backdrop. Looking at this home today, you would never know that the project began as a poorly maintained duplex. Luckily, the homeowners saw past the worn façade and engaged our team to uncover and update the Victorian gem that lay underneath. Taking special care to preserve the historical integrity of the 100-year-old floor plan, we returned the home back to its original glory as a grand, single family home. The project included many renovations, both small and large, including the addition of a a wraparound porch to bring the façade closer to the street, a gable with custom scrollwork to accent the new front door, and a more substantial balustrade. Windows were added to bring in more light and some interior walls were removed to open up the public spaces to accommodate the family’s lifestyle. This 1930’s gem did not have a functional, beautiful kitchen. In fact, many cabinets barely opened, and some appliances didn’t even work. The top priority was to replace the cabinetry, appliances, and finishes in the main kitchen and butler’s pantry for better functionality. The original footprint was kept mostly intact, with only minor adjustments to improve flow, connectivity, and layout. Custom cabinetry was designed to enhance storage, and a suite of high-performance appliances was installed. Finishes like a herringbone tile floor and soapstone countertops were chosen for longevity and durability. The secondary goal was to match the beauty of the rest of the home, with traditional elements, symmetry, and warmth. Details like fluting on the range hood and a unique corbel shape mirror original moldings. Stained oak accents were color-matched to the home’s existing woodwork. White oak cabinet interiors and custom inserts create a furniture-like feel. The finished design blends seamlessly into the historic home, and also enhances functionality for day-to-day living, hosting, and gathering.

The original breakfast room was removed and the corner corner squared off a the site of the new sink. The removal of the wall dividing the kitchen and dining areas allowed the kitchen to expand and accommodate the open concept floor plan. The result is an amazingly comfortable & beautiful space in which to cook & entertain.

This major kitchen remodeling project in Palo Alto included opening up the kitchen and dining areas to create a more fluid and functional space, as well as replacing the central staircase. The kitchen base cabinets from the Aran Cucine’s Doga collection in Graphite with white and frosted glass upper cabinets. A ceiling mounted glass cabinet on stainless steel rods floats between the kitchen and dining areas and is integrated with an under cabinet light.
