Took down the high-top bar - selected new countertops. Granite selected with movement & color, so I painted the cabinets & walls a bright warm white hue to lighten up the space. I selected a neutral/classic tile backsplash and off-white granite composite sink to highlight the counter tops. New drawer pulls in an antique gold and gold faucet were selected to coordinate with the pendant light fixtures along with vintage sconces and a vintage chandelier found in an antique store. New drapery hardware was selected in gold to coordinate with the gold accents. Dining chairs were custom - and I selected a traditional style chair with a modern print fabric to give it interest. While I incorporated a lot of traditional style items in this room, I also inserted modern style counter stools to give the look an element of surprise.
