“The Falls” at Snohomish Cascade, located in Snohomish, Washington, is a planned community of three divisions that was developed by Donald Leavitt from March 2, 1988 – August 9, 1989. The community is a family friendly neighborhood with cul-de-sacs, a waterfall, parks, trails, Totem Falls Elementary School, and nearby shopping.
The HOA contacted Northwest Outdoor Lighting in the fall of 2019 for a landscape lighting quote. They had old lighting that was constantly being damaged or buried under foliage. After renovating their electrical and signage, they finally called to say they were ready for the new outdoor lighting we quoted. We installed 6w LED uplights and washes with all wiring in conduit. We highlighted the totem poles, trees and the new sign for easy visibility at night. The water fall falls 15-20 feet from top.
It took our team one day to complete the lighting installation and now the whole street corner is welcoming and bright!

This beautiful, majestic river birch tree is alive at night with professional landscape lighting.

This custom roof deck in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood features lightweight aluminum decking, ipe planters, an ipe and metal pergola, and ipe benches with built-in storage under the seats. Few woods can match the natural beauty of ipe (pronounced ee-pey), a hardwood with a 30-year life expectancy. These pictures were taken in early spring, before the leaves have filled out on the trees. Plantings include coralbark maples, hornbeams, pink cherry trees, crape myrtles, and feather grasses. The planters include LED up-lighting and automated drip irrigation lines. Read more about our projects on my blog, www.amberfreda.com.

Home theater - large rustic enclosed carpeted and brown floor home theater idea in Salt Lake City with brown walls and a projector screen

The attic space was transformed from a cold storage area of 700 SF to useable space with closed mechanical room and 'stage' area for kids. Structural collar ties were wrapped and stained to match the rustic hand-scraped hardwood floors. LED uplighting on beams adds great daylight effects. Short hallways lead to the dormer windows, required to meet the daylight code for the space. An additional steel metal 'hatch' ships ladder in the floor as a second code-required egress is a fun alternate exit for the kids, dropping into a closet below. The main staircase entrance is concealed with a secret bookcase door. The space is heated with a Mitsubishi attic wall heater, which sufficiently heats the space in Wisconsin winters.

LED step lights are recessed into the concrete wall to provide soft light on the patio. In the kitchen the shelves floating on the concrete wall are back lit with LED strip lights. Additional kitchen lighting is achieved with fluorescents mounted above and below the cabinets. A pendant hangs within the breakfast nook. Photography: Joe Fletcher Architect: Feldman Architecture
