This pool and spa is built in an affluent neighborhood with many new homes that are traditional in design but have modern, clean details. Similar to the homes, this pool takes a traditional pool and gives it a clean, modern twist. The site proved to be perfect for a long lap pool that the client desired with plenty of room for a separate spa. The two bodies of water, though separate, are visually linked together by a custom limestone raised water feature wall with 10 custom Bobe water scuppers.
Quality workmanship as required throughout the entire build to ensure the automatic pool cover would remain square the entire 50 foot length of the pool.
Features of this pool and environment that enhance the aesthetic appeal of this project include:
-Glass waterline tile
-Glass seat and bench tile
-Glass tile swim lane marking on pool floor
-Custom limestone coping and deck
-PebbleTec pool finish
-Synthetic Turf Lawn
This outdoor environment cohesively brings the clean & modern finishes of the home seamlessly to the outdoors to a pool and spa for play, exercise and relaxation.

• Front Entryway of House 6 concrete and wood home.
House 6, is Cheng Design’s sixth custom home project, was redesigned and constructed from top-to-bottom. The project represents a major career milestone thanks to the unique and innovative use of concrete, as this residence is one of Cheng Design’s first-ever ‘hybrid’ structures, constructed as a combination of wood and concrete.

Alas, the rodents disappeared from Long Island long ago. Anyway they would gnaw through those precious deciduous trees that dropped the leaves in the first place. So along with covering your swimming pool at the end of summer, it is helpful in due course to put up pond netting to collect foliage debris; nets also offer an extra layer of safety for your pond fish by protecting them from birds and other animals.

rootARCH: Solid sawn oak timbers from reclaimed storm debris. timbers were coated with wood filler sanded and urethaned for a distinctive finished look that highlights the natural imperfections of the wood grain.

THEMES: ROCK Gardens |Rock Outcrop. This image is of a Rock Outcrop on the back side of previous image that has the SIMPLEST and LEAST EXPENSIVE ground treatment of all: MOSS. After removal of thick leaf debris, moss came in on its own, as it did on ALL the many rock outcrops on this site. Moss requires little more than spot weeding in season, and removal of thick leaf debris in fall or spring. Moss is a truly elegant, very low cost way to highlight Rock features in ALL SEASONS. Does best in full shade.

Smaller streams alongside the waterfall were incorporated to flow as offshoots to the main falls. Landscaping plantings were strategically placed to cover pumps used in the running of the waterfalls. We also designed and built our own intake stand for the pump screen to keep them off the pond bottom. This prevented debris from entering the falls and streams.
