Home office - contemporary built-in desk light wood floor home office idea in Salt Lake City

The cabinets above the peninsula are suspended the same height as the soffit – helping the room feel open. Lighting above the cabinets and within the soffit area brightens the whole space.

What better way to light an art collector's hallway than to light everything. With the potential for art to get lost in the shadow of an opaque piece, light must come from multiple directions. By edge-lighting the glass shelves, the pieces are provided with a soft under-light, but also give an illuminated edge providing a reflection to give the pieces sparkle. Miniature downlights are recessed into the lids of each display shelf while the base of each display glows with an LED light panel which backlights a frosted glass shelf. The offset door casing was softly backlit to reveal the bold color of the walls. Recessed adjustable downlights are hidden from view by periodic beams crossing the ceiling plane. With layer after layer of light all painstakingly integrated into the interiors and architecture, this space has the function and presence of an art museum in a residential setting.

The new Kinloch lodge stands proud, high on the hillside at the world class Jack Nicklaus Golf Resort. No doubt it is one of New Zealand's most iconic destinations, and possibly the most luxurious - Designed by multi-award winning Patterson Architects, with interior design by renowed lodge and hotel designer Virginia Fisher. The design brief was to create a uber-modern version of a Scottish castle to tie in with the Scottish heritage of the Kinloch name. Forte Flooring were selected to create the rough sawn Oak panelling (black and white), which was used on the walls ceilings to give a very-castle like feel. Set alongside lush velvet, fox fur, brass, copper, slate and wool the lodge perfectly achieves an air of modern royalty.

The photographs illustrate the circadian lighting design which has a sensor controlled night light. Colour temperature greatly affects the biological sleep cycle, artificial light at night can greatly disrupt the production of melatonin and the control of colour tempature is proven to enhance sleep quality and disruptiveness of sleep. Using home automation Liquid recreated the sun's colour patterns.

We entered into our Primrose project knowing that we would be working closely with the homeowners to rethink their family’s home in a way unique to them. They definitely knew that they wanted to open up the space as much as possible.
This renovation design begun in the entrance by eliminating most of the hallway wall, and replacing the stair baluster with glass to further open up the space. Not much was changed in ways of layout. The kitchen now opens up to the outdoor cooking area with bifold doors which makes for great flow when entertaining. The outdoor area has a beautiful smoker, along with the bbq and fridge. This will make for some fun summer evenings for this family while they enjoy their new pool.
For the actual kitchen, our clients chose to go with Dekton for the countertops. What is Dekton? Dekton employs a high tech process which represents an accelerated version of the metamorphic change that natural stone undergoes when subjected to high temperatures and pressure over thousands of years. It is a crazy cool material to use. It is resistant to heat, fire, abrasions, scratches, stains and freezing. Because of these features, it really is the ideal material for kitchens.
Above the garage, the homeowners wanted to add a more relaxed family room. This room was a basic addition, above the garage, so it didn’t change the square footage of the home, but definitely added a good amount of space.
For the exterior of the home, they refreshed the paint and trimmings with new paint, and completely new landscaping for both the front and back. We added a pool to the spacious backyard, that is flanked with one side natural grass and the other, turf. As you can see, this backyard has many areas for enjoying and entertaining.
