By implementing a combination of streamlined fixtures and furniture-like pieces, Weiss and Carpenter have come up with a solution that is chic and sophisticated. While the back side of the island houses the matching cabinetry of the rest of the kitchen, the front is made up of an antique apothecary cabinet that the couple discovered through Weisshouse. Large white tile work organized in a subway pattern round out the period style, but with a decidedly modern edge. Making the shower large and curbless was a consideration with the future in mind. "We may need to be able to wheel in and out of there one day!" Stacy jokes. To the right of the shower, the wall opens up to reveal a concealed linen closet.

Weiss painted the ceiling to match the walls - a move that gives the space a greater sense of softness, but also elevates the space even more. One of the few new purchases that the couple made for their home is the headboard. Once part of the set for the film Intolerable Cruelty, the couple found and purchased it from High Point Market, a semi-annual trade show for the interior design industry. Its grand scale compliments the vastness of the space, and as Will considers it, "it stands as the centerpiece of the room."
