Robert Gaskill and his team were able to translate our vision for a modern one-story home with vaulted ceilings, smooth lines that sets atop a hill on 20 acres. His design, with floor to ceiling widows, allows the house to utilize wonderful light and brings in the beauty of the surrounding woods. The interior design creates an efficient functional flow that works for large groups or a family. Robert was personable, meticulous and conscientious and patient even with multiple revisions to our original blueprints. We can't thank him enough.

When designing our new home Robert listened to us and understood what was important to us as older clients. Our primary goal was to have a home with first floor living for us and additional second floor space that provided comfort and convenience for family and friends who visit. Our home flows beautifully in this regard. Folks who have visited us since after we moved in have complemented on how much they like the first floor layout. The second floor layout complements this with the bedrooms designed to provide comfort and privacy for our guests. Another important item was budget. Robert and his team provided great referrals for the primary builder, subcontractors, and suppliers. His team facilitated many meetings during the design process and made sure we understood how the various construction components would all come together. We worked closely with his interior designer to design the various room layouts and choosing the many items needed to construct our home. All of this helped to maintain the budget we anticipated, with no additional cost surprises or huge extras as the work progressed. These meetings and effort also ensured that the construction of our home moved in an orderly and smooth process without delay. Should we ever build another home I definitely would start with Gaskill Architecture and his team..

Robert Gaskill designed our carriage house. It was a smaller structure than his typical projects, but he was kind enough to take us on as clients. We wanted the carriage house to be period appropriate (we live in a 1890s Queen Anne Victorian). Other than general style and rough size/dimensions, we really didn't give him much direction - we wanted him to do all the "heavy lifting". He knocked it out of the park. We were beyond thrilled when we received the final design and are very excited to see the carriage house come to life. Before working with Robert, we were concerned that whoever we got to design our carriage house was going to design a cookie-cutter styled structure...that was the complete opposite of what we experienced. Even though we "boxed" Robert in to the Queen Anne style, he still designed it in a way that makes the carriage house feel like it has our mark on it yet still maintains its Victorian integrity. Aside from being a top-shelf architect, Robert is an excellent communicator. He answered all of our questions thoroughly and in a timely fashion. Plain and simple, Robert is on point, and you'll be beyond delighted when working with him.

Gaskill Architecture designed an elaborate 2 tiered stamped concrete patio including a pool, two story covered balcony, outdoor kitchen, and fireplaces on both levels. The project turned out almost exactly the way the rendering showed. The plans were clear and concise. The contractor was able to give a fair estimate and stick to it. We couldn't be more pleased and recommend Gaskill to all of our friends considering a sizeable project.

We hired Robert Gaskill to do an extensive remodel plus addition on our midcentury house. Robert is very patient, professional, thorough, and experienced. He has the creative perspective and open mindedness needed to optimize the limited space we have while giving us most of the features on our wish list. Robert also referred us to several reputable general contractors he recommended and helped us create a bidding form for them to follow. We chose one of Robert’s contractors to do our project. The only drawback was that the whole process took more than a year, longer than we expected, but to be fair we made many modifications to our drawings and Robert was very patient with us. Also the cost of our project was much higher than we expected but maybe we were naive about that. Overall, we highly recommend Robert Gaskill.

Robert designed the remodel of our 1920s farmhouse, which included an addition as well as a reconfiguration of the existing house. At every point, he was very timely and professional, and also very patient with us as we discussed options and threw out new ideas. His calm, easy-going demeanor helped ease the fears of embarking on a large renovation project. He even ushered us into the next phase of our project by recommending several great contractors. Robert was actually the 4th architect that we spoke to regarding our project, but the only one that we actually hired. The difference was that he walked into our house with a completely open mind and listened to what we were trying to accomplish. And then he ultimately gave us a plan to accomplish it. It's a pleasure to see his business evolve, and I'd certainly recommend him to anyone. I thought I'd get the chance one day when I was describing my project to a co-worker who was also planning some changes. Robert did a great job in a timely manner. Easy to get a hold of and arrange meetings. We are doing a 2000 sq ft. addition. He and his assistant measured our entire house room by room with a laser for accuracy. We had a design and layout in mind. He was able to make a few suggestions and transfer what we wanted into drawings that we currently submitted to our municipality. Our design process was about 2 months and I would definitely recommend him to others.

We hired Gaskill to design an addition for our 100 year old house. He met with us at our home and made recommendations, provided detailed drawings in a timely manner, provided us names of possible contractors and followed up with us to see how the project was proceeding. Thanks to Gaskill we were able to find a contractor to complete the addition we had been dreaming of. Our addition turned out beautifully and blends with our home nicely. We had the pleasure of working with Robert Gaskill on our home's redesign and expansion. An old colonial-style house, we wanted to retain the integrity of the outside of the home, while expanding the space we had within and creating a more open and modern style. Robert was able to take our preliminary ideas and incorporate them into a functional plan. He also was willing to listen to our input and revisit the design, readjusting things until we were completely satisfied. After 15 years we decided it was time to update our home. As our architect of choice, Robert was essential In helping us focus our vision and work through alternatives. Our project consisted of adding on a new master bedroom and gym, creating a covered patio and deck area linking the back of the house, along with other interior cosmetic updates. Robert was very patient in working through our questions and numerous variations of the design. He was able to provide us with a working session that quickly showed us what changes would look like, essential for two people who were not good at visualizing things. My husband and I found ourselves in a bind when an builder could not deliver plans for a home within the scope of our project. Robert Gaskill provided us with our dream architecture for our brick, single family home. It is 3400 sq. ft. with three bedrooms, laundry room, and office upstairs; and an open concept family/kitchen living area plus formal dining room on the first level. He also included a playroom off the family room for our son, a mudroom, and a butler pantry. Robert made the best use of space for our city lot, and even fit in the two car garage. Robert is still working with us through the bid process and will be with us to the end. I would recommend Gaskill Architecture to anyone starting the home building process. Get in early!

He designed a compact lake home with everything we wanted within the constraints of a small, sloping lot. I hired Robert to design a massive home addition/remodel. We had previously met with several contractors who were unable to assist us with the creative visual design and idea scoping that we had hoped for. It was also very overwhelming and an area where neither my husband nor I had any expertise. We were very frustrated by attempting to know what we could do, what would also be functional and also look nice. Everyone else that we spoke to wasn't helpful. Enter Gaskill Architecture. Robert came in, took our overarching goal/budget and with limited creative direction from us (literally we just told him to "be creative") he designed an amazing remodel for our home. We are now able to stay in the home that we love because we are making it exactly what we want, instead of finding another home and starting from scratch. In addition, he was incredibly patient, professional and very timely with his work. He met committed deadlines and went above and beyond by connecting us with contracting firms and getting an estimate for the build. We highly recommend Gaskill Architecture and would work with them again in a heartbeat.

Gaskill Architecture provided drawings for our home renovation. Our plans included: enlarging our kitchen and dining room, adding a four season room and a deck. Robert came with our contractor, listened to our ideas, looked at the structure of our house, took measurements, and gave us some helpful suggestions. We were provided with accurate detailed drawings in the time period we were told. We are very pleased with the service Gaskill Architecture provided and would not hesitate to recommend or use their service again.

I engaged Bob to design a new house and water tower for my property, and to create some perspectives to help me visualize the end result.
