However, for homes situated on busy local roads or highly trafficked street-level lots, the dynamic completely changes once the sun goes down. The moment interior lights are switched on in the evening, a stark contrast is created with the dark outdoors. This creates a severe privacy issue, leaving the entire foyer completely exposed to passing traffic and pedestrians. How We Applied These Principles in Sherrills Ford, NC Applying these exact educational principles to real-world homes is what Cole and I do every day at Bloomin' Blinds of North Charlotte. We recently worked with a homeowner in Sherrills Ford whose beautiful new construction property sat on a highly trafficked road. They loved their double wide front door entrance but felt entirely too exposed to the street at night. We brought our mobile showroom directly to their driveway. This allowed us to hold up premium light-filtering fabric samples directly against their entryway glass, matching the materials perfectly to their home's natural lighting, interior paint, and trim before making a single cut. To solve their street-level privacy issue, we custom-built and installed two matching light-filtering roller shades, mounting them flawlessly side-by-side above the front door frame. To keep the home’s interior design completely cohesive, we carried the exact same style to the back of the house, installing a matching single roller shade on the rear door. Smart Home Window Automation at Your Fingertips Because entryway windows can be tall and awkward to reach manually, our family team integrated advanced smart-home motorization into this Sherrills Ford project. Beyond the convenience of a handheld remote control, these automated roller shades feature seamless Wi-Fi integration. With supply lines for the shower and bathtub fixed in concrete, the design challenge then became to keep the original layout, enlarge the shower and make the space more functional. The new design was far from ordinary, the etched glass shower door with it’s “rolling hills” top, as the client like to call it, made this shower a focal point. You can see the elegant detail added to the tub surround and shower. Inside the shower is an 8 port Kohler DTV shower unit equipped with body sprays and a rain shower head which makes you feel like it’s a day at the spa. The DTV unit is an advanced digital platform that wraps water, sound, light and steam together in a seamless and customizable system. Sansa Interiors transformed what used to be a 1950s outdated bungalow into a simple, functional and bright space for a family of four. The original interior was gut renovated while incorporating a second level as an addition to the building structure. The facade remains true to the feel of the neighbourhood, balancing a clean traditional ground level and a slick minimal upper plane. Choosing an interior palette that consists of white tones and warm greys allows the home to feel even more spacious and serene. Introducing white oak accents through out the home brings in an extra layer of warmth. We are thrilled to share with you our latest kitchen design project for a client who wanted a larger and more open space for their culinary pursuits. Our team worked closely with the client to develop a bespoke design plan that would fulfill their vision for a more innovative and functional kitchen. One of our major objectives was to create an open-concept floor plan by removing the kitchen and dining room walls. This immediately created a more spacious feel to the room and encouraged greater social interaction between family members. The result is a kitchen that feels both contemporary and inviting. Our client was particular about the custom look he wanted for his cabinetry. We listened to his specifications and delivered on our promise of a unique cabinet color that complemented the rest of the kitchen design. The effect is striking, and the cabinets now serve as a focal point of the room. To ensure the kitchen was fully equipped with the latest and most advanced appliances, we specified Wolf appliances. These state-of-the-art appliances are renowned for their functionality, durability, and stylish design. Our client now has access to the latest cooking technology, making meal preparation easier and more enjoyable than ever before! In order to accentuate the beauty of the kitchen space, we installed teardrop recessed lights and pendant lights above the sink and the peninsula. These elegant fixtures not only provide ample lighting, but also add a touch of sophistication to the kitchen. Rather than refinishing the floors, we opted to install new prefinished wood floors in an espresso color. This choice adds depth to the room and creates a cozy ambiance ideal for spending time with loved ones. Overall, our team is thrilled with the outcome of this project. When Bill and Laura came to us for their remodel, they wanted to create a master bathroom oasis. They were able to achieve this with a raised panel from the cabinetry line Holiday Kitchen’s in a traditional cherry finish in the color truffle with Victoria knobs on all doors and Bow pulls on all drawers, Cambria’s Montgomery quartz, Armstrong Alterna 16” x 16” Gray dust flooring, and Moen’s Genta amenities.
