KebonyM-S Pro Architects announce the completion of an indoor swimming pool in a state-of-the-art, single storey family home set in a picturesque location on the outskirts of Bratislava - one of Europe’s youngest capital cities. Kebony, a beautiful wood recommended by leading architects, was chosen to craft the ceiling of the swimming pool, which is designed to emulate rippling waves as well as for the terrace deck and structural beams.
Sustainability and a desire to recreate the close proximity often seen between wood and water in the natural environment were primary focuses in the design of this project. This led a requirement for a low maintenance wood, compatible humidity and with advanced durability, for the swimming pool ceiling. In addition, a high level of precision when cutting the wood was required in order to achieve the desired appearance of waves.
Supplied by Leading Market, Kebony was carefully selected for the pool ceiling, which consists of 490 lamellae of timber, due to its versatility, durability and environmental credentials. Kebony was also installed throughout the exterior of this property, both for the spacious outdoor terrace and the exterior and interior beams. One of the reasons to choose Kebony was the unified look of wood in all these different applications.
Developed in Norway, the patented Kebony technology uses an environmentally friendly process, which permanently enhances the properties of sustainable softwood with a bio-based liquid derived from agricultural crop waste. By polymerising the wood’s cell wall with furfuryl alcohol, the wood gains greatly improved durability and dimensional stability, giving it characteristics similar to those of tropical hardwood. In creating a wood with comparable properties to tropical hardwood that can be grown in a FSC certified, sustainably managed forest, the demand for tropical woods is reduced, allowing timber to once again be an important part of sustainable construction.

Teresa & Duane Brunot wanted to update their small 1980's kitchen. With the help of our talented designer, Tracy West, and ideas found on Houzz.com, the Brunot's created their dream kitchen. Our "exceptional crew" was able to bring the design to life with traditional raised panel doors with rope molding and glaze. Countertop selections include Napoli, Rainforest, and Atlantis granite. A custom made mantle was added between the built-in bookshelves. A beautiful wet bar was added to also improve the living space.

"I met Tracy West through a friend of mine. I emailed Tracy and the very next day we had an appointment. We met with Tracy several times before we signed our contract. She never tired of all of our questions, emails, texts and pictures of ideas that we found on Houzz. I've spoken to Brandon O'Hanlon several times and no matter what I asked for, he made a way for it to happen. He is very personable and professional. O'Hanlon Kitchens took our ideas and made it happen. They took my very small 1980's kitchen and turned it into a beautiful open floor plan kitchen. Not only did they do my kitchen, they also replaced my 1980's brick fireplace with a custom mantle (from a picture I found on Houzz) and added built-ins on either side. And it didn't stop there. They also added a wet bar in the room that we like to call the Parlor. I couldn't be happier with my new home. I love coming home and cooking now. When my clients came to see me and announced their wonderful news that they were pregnant, but did not want to know the sex of the baby, I immediately decided to have the room in greys and yellows, we could always add accessories once the baby was born. This gorgeous, serene nursery for this very much Loved new baby would need to have all the necessary amenities and easily be converted into a regular bedroom. My Client had an image of elephants as the father grew up with bedtime stories of Babar.
The challenged was the size of the room only 94 sq. feet. And it would have to be transformed into a regular bedroom once the child was older. I was able to find high quality , beautiful classic furniture that also serves as double duty.
Once the child would be old enough the crib can transform into a queen bed, and the removable part of the changing table becomes a 6 drawer dresser. The paintable wall paper color can be changed as well as all accessories.
I believe in good quality furniture that can be passed down or converted. Yes it is more expensive but in the long run, classic pieces such as these can last a life time.
Created by the concept of elephant accessories and soft pastel colors. Soft texture wallpaper and loads of storage used in an elegant way, This nursery will stand the test of time from 1 month to 18 years .
One month before the birth of the child my clients found out they were getting a baby boy. He was born October 03, measuring 45cm and weighing 6.5 pounds. Congratulations guys and welcome to our world little Matteo

Jarrett DesignOur clients are always teaching us. In this case, our clients had a vision that changed the direction of the design process midstream. Often our clients tell us they have trouble visualizing. This time, we must admit, we had a little trouble visualizing how their big idea was better than what we were planning. And then, it clicked!
This young family of five had outgrown their dark and dated kitchen. Food prep, cooking and baking play a large daily role in this home. Pantry storage was overflowing to the point where bulk ingredients, small appliances and other daily necessities were stored in a nearby closet and the laundry room at the end of the house. Counter space was scarce. The kitchen also served as an office area for the husband, who works from home, and a study area for the three school age children. Given some constraints and a fixed budget, our inclination was to work with the existing kitchen to design a much more efficient space, keeping it close to the laundry room/pantry, which could be maximized for convenient storage and access. We would create an organized work area within the kitchen as well. Our clients were happy with the design. Then, out of the blue, they announced that they would like to move the kitchen into the family room space! Our first reaction was to question how this could work being so far from the pantry storage areas, and the other living spaces of the home. The flow seemed as though it would be odd, but we heard them out and allowed some time for the idea to blossom. And blossom, it did. The existing kitchen and eating space became the new study and family room with enlarged windows and an added sliding door bringing their beautiful gardens into clear sight. The pantry dilemma was solved by adding a full wall of tall cabinetry with roll out storage flanking a beautiful fireplace. A large island with waterfall sides provides copious counter space and seating for the whole family. Dark, dated traditional styling of the past kitchen gave way to contemporary high gloss white and warm rosewood elements. The dramatic Dekton Aura backsplash is the icing on the cake!

KebonyM-S Pro Architects announce the completion of an indoor swimming pool in a state-of-the-art, single storey family home set in a picturesque location on the outskirts of Bratislava - one of Europe’s youngest capital cities. Kebony, a beautiful wood recommended by leading architects, was chosen to craft the ceiling of the swimming pool, which is designed to emulate rippling waves as well as for the terrace deck and structural beams.
Sustainability and a desire to recreate the close proximity often seen between wood and water in the natural environment were primary focuses in the design of this project. This led a requirement for a low maintenance wood, compatible humidity and with advanced durability, for the swimming pool ceiling. In addition, a high level of precision when cutting the wood was required in order to achieve the desired appearance of waves.

Teresa & Duane Brunot wanted to update their small 1980's kitchen. With the help of our talented designer, Tracy West, and ideas found on Houzz.com, the Brunot's created their dream kitchen. Our "exceptional crew" was able to bring the design to life with traditional raised panel doors with rope molding and glaze. Countertop selections include Napoli, Rainforest, and Atlantis granite. A custom made mantle was added between the built-in bookshelves. A beautiful wet bar was added to also improve the living space.

O'Hanlon Kitchens took our ideas and made it happen. They took my very small 1980's kitchen and turned it into a beautiful open floor plan kitchen. Not only did they do my kitchen, they also replaced my 1980's brick fireplace with a custom mantle (from a picture I found on Houzz) and added built-ins on either side. And it didn't stop there. They also added a wet bar in the room that we like to call the Parlor. I couldn't be happier with my new home. I love coming home and cooking now.
