Inspiration for a mid-century modern gray tile freestanding bathtub remodel in Santa Barbara with flat-panel cabinets, white cabinets and white walls

The designer, Bonnie from Signature Designs Kitchen & Bath, pulled out all the stops with 5 niches, 7 different tile selections (4 glass, 1 marble and 2 porcelain) and top of the line fixtures ALL that harmonize into this fantastically creative bathroom. The shower pan was hand cut and hand placed (made out of the main floor tile) in alternating orientations to give a mosaic look. Original bath tub and white tile was left - a single row was removed to allow for the deco tile to be installed to match the updated backsplash and deco around the custom vanity. MA Peterson www.mapeterson.com We reconfigured this bathroom and the closet leading to it to create more space, by combining two baths into one. The windows were existing and to prevent exterior work, we creatively worked around them. Our design allowed them to stay in place where they were originally, but afforded great light into the reconfigured bathroom space. Masculine slate stone floors, classic ceramic wainscot and marble counter-tops surround a spacious his and her vanity, with sconces to illuminate each. The formal white cabinetry provided the perfect contrast to the plank-like rustic slate floor.
