Although our indoor and outdoor wall panels remain incredibly popular, we are asked more and more frequently to work our magic on steps and staircases for public buildings and private residences. For too long, outdoor steps and staircases have been tragically ignored when it comes to décor, but it is time to change all that. We have worked on several outdoor staircase projects including this installation in a private home to update a staircase leading to the property. This beautiful Mediterranean styled home featured distinctive pink and white steps leading to the main house which our team felt was the perfect canvas for a little Vistafolia magic. A backdrop of our luxurious, tropical greenery was added to the staircase to add a sumptuous contrast to the warm pink brickwork, with abundance of colors with artificial green wall panels.

The goal for this project was to hide all the air-conditioning units in the inner courtyard of the hotel. Premium rooms looked directly out on to air-conditioning units that were unsightly and noisy when running. Vistafolia® was asked to design a wall that was at least 12 feet high to obscure the view, but also allow access for maintenance of the machinery. We designed a timber-framed structure which we clad with Vistafolia® Signature Panels, adding additional foliage from our Color Boxes to create larger drifts of grasses and foliage with a small smash of color from some delicate light green/yellow flowers. The green wall privacy screen also provided an acoustic benefit, as it lowered the noise level of the air-conditioning units.

Although luxurious, it was felt that the exterior of the exclusive apartment block was a little cold and uninviting. It was this wall which the team felt was the perfect place for a little VistaGreen® magic. Treating the wall as a blank canvas, the team designed a top to bottom carpet of perfect lush foliage, leaving room for the complex’s name plate. Not only does the wall look great from the outside but, it also provides residents with an improved view from many of the apartments. With increasingly busy lives, more and more business and residential customers are opting for artificial turf and decorative artificial green wall to add warmth to a building. In this case the addition of the Vistafolia® wall has transformed the exterior into a much more welcoming and attractive view.

We are often asked whether there are any limits to the Vistafolia system, and the answer is simple: the functions of our green walls are limited only by your imagination. Whether indoor or outdoor, residential or commercial, large or small, every space can benefit from our products. In some cases, we get the opportunity to combine large and small spaces on the same project. This is a great example of such a project, with them wanting to beautify a section of bland walling that was a little ugly to the eye, while requiring a practical solution that would deter any would-be trespassers. For the large wall, we adorned it with our luxurious green panels, customized with exciting bursts of lavender. In no time at all, the client went from having unsightly brickwork, to a maintenance free, lush green ribbon of planting befitting of any environment.
