Featured in this collection is John's very own award winning backyard. His garden is a certified wildlife habitat by the National Wildlife Federation. The property provides the four basic habitat elements needed for wildlife to thrive: water, cover, food and places to raise their young. His garden will be featured in the September issue of San Diego Home and Garden magazine. Stay tuned for John's new book, Garden Sanctuary: Designing for Comfort, Wholeness, and Connection, that takes you on the transformative journey of creating your own personal sanctuary and connection to nature in your own back yard.

Design ideas for a mid-sized partial sun backyard mulch landscaping in Baltimore for winter.

For this swimming pool renovation in Long Grove, Il we started by building a new pool structure inside an existing steel walled, concrete bottomed pool. We then added a new hot tub with its own dedicated, separate equipment. Both pool and spa received Hartstone coping and Jewelscapes glass bead interior. The pool has a full-end sun shelf in the deep end of the pool and full-end steps in the shallow end. The pool is also equipped with a new automatic cover. The Hot Tub equipment is located in the basement, which provides for year-round operation. Both the pool and the hot tub are controlled by a Pentair Intellitouch system with iPhone interface compatibility.

Although our indoor and outdoor wall panels remain incredibly popular, we are asked more and more frequently to work our magic on steps and staircases for public buildings and private residences. For too long, outdoor steps and staircases have been tragically ignored when it comes to décor, but it is time to change all that. We have worked on several outdoor staircase projects including this installation in a private home to update a staircase leading to the property. This beautiful Mediterranean styled home featured distinctive pink and white steps leading to the main house which our team felt was the perfect canvas for a little Vistafolia magic. A backdrop of our luxurious, tropical greenery was added to the staircase to add a sumptuous contrast to the warm pink brickwork, with abundance of colors with artificial green wall panels.
