An industrial sheet metal exterior metal townhome called for the same on the interior. To give this bachelor an update to his home, an existing sectional (not what the designer wanted to do!) was used with the addition of pillows, throw, industrial shelving and coffee table to give the space life and personality.

The dining, living, & kitchen is all in one open space so we had really make sure everything complemented and flowed nicely. It is a mountain home, contemporary, loft vibe with industrial touches. The beautiful area rugs help show division of spaces and the custom sectional with plush upholstery really brings life to the space in a condo neutralized with a light, creamy beige paint color throughout.

Diane Wagner This young man had bought this new house and had never bought furniture to capture his personality or life style. He wanted it casual, comfortable with some sophistication. We gave him a great sectional, wood and iron table and new rug. We added new sconces and two very comfortable swivel chairs for TV viewing. We had the TV mounted over the FP. The lighting is all vintage iron chic. The rugs we added are indoor/outdoor so he has no worries about stains or his dog.

High above the streets of Manhattan, a mid-century-styled one-bedroom apartment craved a new lease on life. The owner hoped to transform the dated, tired space into a marvelous design mix that would pair Art Deco influences culled from around the world: Imagine a mythical Pan Am Flight 001 that traveled from Idlewild to Miami, London, and Shanghai and round the world, we go. Pass the cocktails, and take lots of photos. Wish your were here! The result is a clubby, transporting bachelor pad that whisks the homeowner—and frequent dinner guests—to far-off lands as well as closer-at-hand, iconic locales such as the Cloud Club, high atop the Chrysler Building. Close your eyes, then open them to cinematic splendor.

Fresh accessories can breathe new life into an existing furnishing plan. Just like adding a new belt or scarf to an outfit can make an old look seem fresh, new decor items can really change the feeling of your space. When we were asked to update the design of the primary suite in The Sophisticated Lodge, we were able to give the space a significant facelift simply by sourcing new decor accessories.

This condo was designed for a great client: a young professional male with modern and unfussy sensibilities. The goal was to create a space that represented this by using clean lines and blending natural and industrial tones and materials. Great care was taken to be sure that interest was created through a balance of high contrast and simplicity. And, of course, the entire design is meant to support and not distract from the incredible views. Photos by: Chipper Hatter

We wanted our client's bedroom to feel masculine and cozy, while enhancing the modern architecture of the space. We kept the space feeling clean and relaxing by keeping a neutral palette and adding just a few accents of bold color in the chair and bed pillow. The combination of natural woods and soft textures help make the space feel cozy and inviting, which balances nicely with the metal accents that keep it modern and fresh. We chose to paint the wall behind his bed a dark charcoal to add richness to the space, give a sense of depth while enhancing the clean lines of the apartment's modern architecture, and to serve as a dramatic backdrop to the bed and neon which both work together to add style to the space. The resident of this room is very well traveled. She lived in Paris for a good portion of her life with her twin girls. One of her current occupations is 'burlesque skater'. She runs her own company and they perform burlesque skating performances. It's magnificent. If she was on the bachelor she'd be the favourite for sure. Beautiful, smart, and driven. Except she's happily married so paws off boys.
