I have been working as a kitchen and bath designer in the Pacific Northwest for 13 years. I love engaging with new clients, ascertaining their needs through various interviews and meetings and then collaborating as we build their finished concept together. The variety of design styles, room layouts and function changes so much between one person and the next that no two finished products are remotely the same. This fluidity allows for endless possibilities for exploration in my field. It keeps the job interesting and has always given me a particular sense of reward and accomplishment as we near completion. The greatest personal recompense in this chosen profession is being able to walk with a client through this process and come out the other side with that client feeling elated with the end result.

I was able to secure fabric that we used in the clients old home to make new drapery panels for the windows and doors. We chose a contrast band design for the panels so we could use both fabrics. The drapery panels are blackout lined. The decorative traverse rods are mounted below the crown to completely darken the room when needed. The 3 rods cover 30' of space with pinch pleated drapery.

In this renovation I wanted to brighten and highlight the beautiful architecture in this room where every surface had been previously painted all white. I chose to complement the rose colored oriental carpet by using a neutral green. I also wanted to give the room a more cozy feel by adding color and rearranging the furniture. Highlighting the millwork gave more focus to the fireplace. To break up the length of the room I used custom silk pinch pleated drapery on wood rods with finials and balloon shades in the deep recessed windows. Down lighting on dimmers were installed to wash the fire place and give general illumination. We decided to keep all the furniture but reupholster it.
