This Denver Area home in Parker had failing composite wood siding. The homeowner elected to update the style and look of the siding by installing alternating exposures lap siding, a beautiful contemporary design. We used James Hardie HardiePlank fiber cement siding and trim, and painted with Sherwin-Williams Duration paint. The results were stunning and the homeowner was thrilled. A relatively new product from Ralph Lauren, this is Polished Patina in "Old Rock Crystal". It is a troweled finish that has a lovely pearlized effect and looks beautiful in any room.

This is the new staircase that replaced the pull down stairs. The stringers are 2" x 12" hand picked framing lumber that I sanded and primed white before assembly. The treads are 2" x 10" mahogany. I eased all four edges with a router, sanded and clear coated all sides of the treads with shellac. I then installed a simple fir handrail using satin nickle brackets. The hand rail is finished with a red mahogany stain and shellac. The finish coats of paint on the stringers and wall have not been applied yet. Also, the rough opening was drywalled, making a cleaner look at the wall/ceiling intersections.

This stairrunner project was something very special. Using 100% wool Stair Runner From Stanton Carpet (Item 21592 Alexander 31” width), we had to create a custom Stair-runner to fit a landing featuring a 90% miter, a Hollywood style step installation and then starting and ending with end caps. The U-Shaped landing area was created by matching two ends of the stair runner. This customer wanted a matching area rug which was not ready available. Our master installer seamed 3 – 31” runners lengths together to create the desired length and then added the borders to finish the look. The completed size was 5.8 x 8.6.
