Base of the waterfall flowing into the stream. This is a pondless waterfall, meaning there is no sitting water or pool at the end of the stream. It behaves as a fountain would, recycling the water to the top without. Limited maintenance needed.

When the holidays arrive at home, include a room decorated to celebrate the peace and joy of the season. Lights go low and calm prevails as you hope for some softly falling snow outside. Here, a tree is dressed in shimmer instead of fuss, the graphic chairs that don’t believe in behaving, brass catching the glow just right, and a Moroccan lantern doing what it does best by casting a little magic after dark.

Only the best-behaved children are allowed here. For this is Dad's special retreat; a cozy get away for working on the computer or simply recharging. With this room's rich paisley wool fabrics, tribal -inspired rug and classic furniture. It's the place Dad loves to go. Problem is, he's not the only one.

Bridge overlooking the lower level of the backyard was a lovely touch to have the waterfall flow right underneath it. A look at the most luxurious shower ever to be installed inside of a Shipping Container. Notable features include: Calcutta Tile "walk out shower" open shower and bathroom area, wall to wall stainless steel floor drain, off grid water and solar power. All work was done in-house at our Toronto, Canada container modification facility.

This is the first view upon opening the backyard gate. A blooming, tree-form Ninebark on the right, with the beautiful, and well-behaved, American Wisteria making her way up the pole. How beautiful that will be in the years to come, as she crawls across the pergola, dangling her lavender jewels.

A daylilly assortment grow in a sunny border on a parkway. These spread nicely but are much better behaved than the species. The larger varieties are El Desperado and Mauna Loa. The smaller ones are a unique rust/orange color and are unidentifiable.

Our clients, a young professional couple in their 30s, sent us inspiration images of very traditional living rooms chock full of blues & whites, golds and merlots, brown furniture, formal window treatments, and Oriental rugs. They wanted a RETREAT and entertaining space for grown-ups, but durable enough a room for kids learning how to behave in a civilized manner.
Our aim was “youthfulize” their ideas into something fresh-but-timeless for a young and growing family by employing luminous colors, abstract art, and transitional decor.

Under cover the patio behaves like a room - plank floor, slatted ceiling and a whitewashed brick wall with art hung on it. The opening at the end frames the pool and the valley beyond, so the table sits in shade with the view straight ahead.

Finally the new Grow Native planting area slowly being implemented over a period of years (not all are natives, as some plants existed here before this native effort on my part). My goal is to grow natives here as dense and self propagating as I have done in the front sunny planting beds shown in other photo sets. This one has just started in 2012-14. I allow the creeping jenny to jump the brick edger into the lawn, add an interesting natural blend and blur of planter bed and turf, just how nature want to behave.
