Looking back at the extremely modern house we can see the sod walkway leading up to the Algonquin steps and upper patio. We see the mirrored Corten Steel upper and lower walls. There is a lower patio for barbecuing in the summertime. On the left we get a glimpse of the main planting bed which holds Canadian Hemlocks, Rhododendrons and Periwinkle groundcover.

This property has a traditional but Mediterranean flair to it. They landscape has drought tolerant plant material but colorful plants and a classical layout.

Heavy water flow is an issue for this property. A berm was installed to help protect the patio area and to re-direct the water flow. This creates a welcoming space without looking like a fix for a problem.

Honed Algonquin upper terrace and steps lead you to the sod pathways. We see two of the large 12' Cornus Florida specimens in the Eco-Lawn plant beds. Norway Maples in the neighbours backyard add plenty of shade and privacy between the two backyards.
