Koi pond in between decks. Pergola and decking are redwood. Concrete pillars under the steps for support. There are ample space in between the supporting pillars for koi fish to swim by, provides cover from sunlight and possible predators. Koi pond filtration is located under the wood deck, hidden from sight. The water fall is also a biological filtration (bakki shower). Pond water volume is 5500 gallon. Artificial grass and draught resistant plants were used in this yard.

The biological filter has been placed 24" above the pond. A berm was created to raise the waterfall high enough to allow for three 8" drops into the pond. This is the mouth of the waterfall and will house the filter media that washes the pond water and keeps it sparkling clear.

The photographs illustrate the circadian lighting design which has a sensor controlled night light. Colour temperature greatly affects the biological sleep cycle, artificial light at night can greatly disrupt the production of melatonin and the control of colour tempature is proven to enhance sleep quality and disruptiveness of sleep. Using home automation Liquid recreated the sun's colour patterns.
