Los Angeles based Interior Designer Erika Bruder wanted to transform an upstairs hallway into an art gallery in this year's Pasadena Showcase House. Collaborating with Fine Art Photography gallery PurePhoto, she used a Dunn-Edwards Molasses paint color on the walls to contrast the bright and contemporary fine art photography pieces. PurePhoto worked with Erika to face mount prints to acrylic for a "floating" feel of off of the wall. A new boutique condominium building with only 29 residences in one of the most charming residential enclaves in Manhattan: 40 East End Avenue. In this dynamic collaboration with Gerner Kronick & Valcarel Architects and Deborah Berke Partners, Lightstone Group transcends the condominium status quo with the curated creation of nuanced individual residences designed to be true homes. The custom high-gloss lacquer painted Italian kitchen cabinetry, by Pedini, is complemented with hand-selected Italian Arabescato Cervaiole marble slabs. Upper cabinet doors feature a unique woven metal mesh panel and bevelled trim, adding a refined pattern to the kitchen composition. The state-of-the-art appliances by Gaggenau and the substantial kitchen island are as vital to cooking as they are to entertaining. The master bathroom, featuring a 6 foot soaking tub, walk-in shower and private water closet, is clad in Arabescato Cervaiole marble in a high-honed finish, complemented by fluted mirrored glass panels, Pedini custom Italian vanity and Waterworks Henry fixtures in polished nickel.

Symbiotic by Jon Allen (JAC 281) The Jon Allen Collection is an exclusive, hand-selected group of my most personal work to date. Each piece is hand-painted on aluminum. My art itself and my chosen medium, aluminum, are blissfully married. You may not think of the word organic when you hear the word metal, but this is some of my most organic art and that’s simply because metal allows my work to achieve true sentience. Aluminum’s naturally reflective nature enables each color, shape, and stroke to reach its full potential. A new aspect of the painting will reveal itself to you as it basks in the light that surrounds, evades, or envelops it in that moment. When you see the piece from different angles, you will appreciate how vibrant, dynamic, and environmentally influenced these pieces are. What you may see and feel by morning is not what you’ll see or feel by dusk and in many ways, and as such I feel these pieces capture the ever-ebbing and complex nature of human emotion and perception. Some of these pieces are truly abstract while others are modern takes on traditional landscapes, marine life, and portraits. I hope you enjoy them a fraction of how much I enjoyed creating them. Interior Style Designs Client hired us to help design window treatments for the whole house. This is a new build and there were no existing window treatments. We were hired due to our help in choosing fabrics, drapery and shade styles and our involved detail in going over all aspects of functionality and installation. This project was over 15 custom fabric pleated roman shades and 3 draperies for the family room, loft and master bedroom. In the end, our client was thrilled with the outcome. Most importantly, the clients knew what to expect from start to finish.
