Art Deco bedroom entry features a black grid-framed glass partition beside a finely detailed built-in cabinet. The photograph reveals warm wood shelving, inset display lighting, striped edge accents, decorative objects, and a matching wood floor with a linear border. A glimpse of the upholstered bed and layered artwork beyond adds softness, while the dark partition introduces crisp contrast and a strong architectural threshold between spaces.

This is an organic Lime Wash done with a true lime wash product as opposed to a brick mortar or concrete that is often seen on new houses. This product can be applied as a solid coating making the surface completely white, or can be applied and "washed off" in many artistic ways, as seen here. If you hate your brick or just want something unique this is a great option!

Serpentine dry stacked granite walls celebrate regional materials while transforming this sloping yard into a multilevel extension of home. It features a secluded fire pit that looks out over a striking view of the stormwater pond below and mountains in the distance, activated by the occasional glimpse of local wildlife populations including bald eagles and deer. Two cedar pergolas act as an outdoor extension of home and provide afternoon shade both inside the house and out.

We began this project with the idea of making a friendly entryway and social area under the Mulberry tree which provides much needed shade in this hot, mountainous area. The 'red fescue' meadow grass has a cooling effect and the agaves reduce the need for excess water and maintenance.
The backyard has a covered dining area with a corner lounge and fireplace. The large barbecue offers a cantilevered counter for entertaining. The waterfall into the pool is surrounded with bamboo and plantings that emulate the hillside beyond the property. The permeable paving and mix of Vitex and Olive trees provide shade for smaller seating areas to enjoy the variety of succulents throughout the garden

Hedges of Catalina Cherry, a shrub that thrives in Pasadena's hot, dry summers lines the left side of this patio. Its (edible!) cherries draw birds in autumn, while its blooms do the same in spring. It makes a great exchange for an all too ubiquitous ficus hedge.
