The existing master bath was cramped and uninspiring with a single vanity and small shower stall. By borrowing some space from an adjacent hall bath and by creatively rearranging the cabinetry and fixtures, we were able to create an open, fresh, bright bathroom with large tile shower and dual master vanities. The frameless shower enclosure, recessed tile niches, built-in corner bench, marble counters and polished chrome hardware transforms the new bath into a bright, fresh, spa like space. Full overlay, flat panel cabinetry with a crisp white finish coordinate beautifully with the traditional hex tile floor with contrasting grey grout. Polished chrome faucets, wall sconces and cabinet hardware provide just the right amount sparkle and shimmer. Pale green gray wall are soothing and relaxing. The utility room was in between the LR and the kitchen, so we moved it in order to connect the two spaces. We put the utility room where the laundry room used to be and created a new laundry room off a new hallway that leads to the master bedroom. The space for this was created by borrowing space from the XL dining area. We carved out space for the formal living room to accommodate a larger kitchen. The rest of the space became modest-sized offices with French doors to allow light from the house's front into the kitchen. The living room now transitioned into the kitchen with a new bar and sitting area.
We also transformed the full bath and hallway, which became a half-bath and mudroom for this single couple. The master bathroom was redesigned to receive a private toilet room and tiled shower. The stairs were reoriented to highlight an open railing and small foyer with a pretty armchair. The client’s existing stylish furnishings were incorporated into the colorful, bold design. Each space had personality and unique charm. The aqua kitchen’s focal point is the Kohler cast-iron vintage-inspired sink. The enlarged windows in the living room and sink allow the homeowners to enjoy the natural surroundings.

Berenson Timeless Charm Hardware
Traditional design focuses on being warm and welcoming, borrowing classic elements from European and Old World style for a feeling of familiarity. Unlike a sleek, contemporary kitchen where nothing distracts from the task at hand, a traditional kitchen is designed to be lived in, comfortable for hours at a time. Cabinetry looks and feels like “real” furniture, showing the frame around doors and, often, exposing hinges. Finishes are aged and distressed. Faucets and hardware have shape and detail. Even a crystal chandelier – one you might expect in a dining room – is at home in a traditional kitchen. The overall effect is one of beloved pieces, collected over time.
Elevations Design Solutions by Myers is the go-to inspirational, high-end showroom for the best in cabinetry, flooring, window and door design. LOS ANGELES, CA / SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL
The commission for this 4,300-square-foot residence came with significant challenges for the architects – a house had once existed on the lot but had burned down and the attempt to replace the house had stalled, leading to an abatement order and a lapse of permits.
Our first challenge was to revive the lapsed construction permit by proposing to “modify” the existing structure. The practical effect this had was to fix the footprint of the new home to the existing structure’s plan outline. Having thereby inherited the large, dense block of the original house, the new strategy became one of substituting selective areas of indoor space for outdoor courtyard.
This strategy of trading indoor space for outdoor courtyard allowed an erosion of the formerly monolithic structure into a series of distinct volumetric elements, and further suggested that the architectural pieces could cohere as a “village.” The main level is further eroded by large, glazed planes, merging indoor with outdoor, and virtually stretching the landscape across interior space. Moving the detached garage from the rear yard to beneath the new living space allowed for a 75-meter lap pool and a shaded olive garden.
The gardens include built-in seating, extensive use of ornamental grasses and Zen-like interior courtyards. A material palette of fossilized stone, bonderized-galvanized metal, and natural Douglas fir allows for the warmth desired by the wife, while providing the modernity required by the husband. Programmatically, her music room borrows from the calm and protected olive court in the rear, while his office becomes a pavilion set in the landscape, which both addresses the street and acts as a sheltering monument for the terraced entry garden.

The Aerius - Modern American Craftsman on Acreage in Ridgefield Washington by Cascade West Development Inc.
Welcome to the Aerius. Don’t let the Northwest inspired appearance fool you. As you step inside; the interwoven transitional, modern and contemporary elements make personal solitude, friendly gatherings, and extended family stays simultaneously conceivable. The thoughtful division of rooms and amenities insure space for each member of the household to act independently or to come together as a whole and share in the quiet sophistication of the common areas. The family that lives here values independence as well as inclusion. Functionality and freedom are the principles of this nest; from which a family can take flight.
At first glance this home seems to disappear into it’s surroundings. The dark, natural appearance of the rock borrows hues and rough texture from the surrounding forest. A soft, powder blue paint gives no clear chromatic indication between structure and sky. With this in mind the dark shingles seem to float above a stoney foundation. Unexpected levitation isn’t the only aerial endeavor this home embarks upon. With lofty interiors and dismissible separation from the outdoors; people, air and conversation can flow freely throughout the combined space. Overall the home echoes the popular American Craftsman style, which dots the Pacific Northwest landscape. This home’s many peaks; supported by visible gables and lower exterior masonry denote common treatments found throughout Clark County. However, within the championed modern features of this home, touches of originality can still be found. From the driveway to the dining room, the design guides the viewer through the home while maintaining a comfortable and creative atmosphere.

This project consisted of a master bathroom renovation and an addition of an en-suite bath where we borrowed room from the mud room to make space for the bathroom. The master bath was made up of Signature cabinets in Pioneer door style with 3” stile and rail in a Smoke finish. The master bathroom vanity top is Caesarstone White Attica quartz. The tile included DalTile FM96 Equation Grey 12”x24” ceramic tile on the shower wall surround and in the niche back, Eleganza Manor Pebble 6”x36” on the bathroom floor and Maniscalco Botany Bay Pebbles on shower stall floor. MSI Harbor Gray subway tile was laid vertically as an accent band.
The en-suite bathroom includes a Fabuwood vanity cabinet in Allure Galaxy door style in Nickel finish with a Caesarstone vanity top in White Attica. We installed Daltile Rittenhouse Square Arctic White 3”x6” ceramic tile on the shower walls with Cobblestone grout and installed a Dream Line Prism Neo Angle shower enclosure with clear glass and brushed nickel trim. The en-suite bathroom floor is DalTile AM36 Wanderlust 12”x24” ceramic tile with Cobblestone grout.

When these Canton, MA homeowners desired to upgrade their childrens’ bathroom, they were referred to Renovisions who were grateful to accept the task. The clients were unhappy with the existing cramped floor plan, lack of storage, old and drafty windows, outdated fixtures and overall lackluster aesthetic.
Renovisions designed the new room to not only meet the client’s goals, but exceeded them abundantly. Mobility in the space was limited due to the door swing into the room. Renovisions recommended replacing the currenmt door with a pocket door in an arch-top beaded design to match the nearby bedroom doors, while also upgrading the hallway linen closet with new shelving and same styled door.
Renovisions also increased the layout by borrowing space from the adjacent dining room. There is now more room for the handsome, quartered-mahogany wall-hung vanity with linen tower.
Since the homeowners requested a contemporary look, the design team focused on choosing more modern products including a soaking tub, minimalistic square designed shower heads, tub filler, single lever faucet and a large rectangular sink. The white quartz countertop with wide veining and waterfall edge, along with the striking larger format subway tile finished with square edge chrome profiles contribute to the clean aethetic and modern appeal.
From the sleek porcelain plank floor tile, new double-mulled Marvin casement windows and recessed lighting that provides just the right amount of light, the end result: a one-of-a-kind bathroom, a unique and modern ‘Revitalized Room’.

Centoni converted this spectacular home’s 12-foot diameter 4th-floor turret into a lux steam shower and spa. Structural steel was engineered to create an uninterrupted opening to the turret from the main bathroom. Sophisticated waterproofing, ventilation, and heating solutions were also engineered to ensure the view was not interrupted, no matter how much steam was generated.
For design inspiration, we borrowed the opulent experience of ancient Roman bathing complexes to create a truly luxurious environment. Hand-cut mosaic tile from Italy and brilliant white Thassos marble add a refined and formal touch to the space, while dark cabinetry provides a contemporary touch. The hand-hammered steel sink basins replicate ancient singing bowls’ calm and meditative experience.
At the same time, dimmable lights allow the rare opportunity to shower by the City’s light. On the shower floor, a compass rose pointing true north with 24-karat French fleur-de-lys tiles symbolizes the importance of following the right path and our client’s desire for meditative balance. The space is both unique and meaningful. Centoni created the ideal retreat for anyone who longs for a calm, quiet bathing experience with stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Palace of Fine Art, Alcatraz, the Presidio, and beyond.
