This queen size bed was naturally enhanced using multiple bed coverings. A custom shaped headboard genuinely compliments the space’s sloped ceilings. Using an off-white textured fabric places major emphasis on both the headboard itself, and the entire bed. The box pleated dust ruffle was constructed from a more distinct textured fabric, repeated from the draperies, corresponding with the headboard’s fabric. This addition of the box pleated dust ruffle further assists in accentuating the bed altogether. As a final accent, square decorative throw pillows were created using off-white damask fabric embellished with teal brush fringe, and tone on tone teal stripe fabric finished with teal & tan brush fringe. Each piece together creates a restful sleep area.

This client had recently moved into this home, and they wanted to add some personal touches and changes to make it feel more like their home. I came up with a plan for their backsplash that was simple, but had such a dramatic impact on the space. Also, I designed a valance for the kitchen window to add some pattern and color to the space that reflected the client's style.

This is a box pleated valance where the pleat is folded back exposing a contrast plaid fabric that pulled all the colors out of the beautiful bird cotton print. A different bird was centered on each pleat. A third small diamond fabric was used to cover buttons to hold the folds. This valance is over the kitchen sink.
