Built-in custom polished concrete fire -pit with surrounding brick bench with a bluestone cap. Bluestone patio paving with slot of gray beach pebbles. Fire-pit has natural gas with an electric spark starter. Bench seating has a wood screen wall that includes lighting & supports vine growth.

Our clients built their Manhattan dream house years ago, but a couple of decades in, the yellow and green palette seemed stale. We brightened the home with new paint and countertops, white oak flooring and updated carpet, custom fixtures and furniture, and new finishes, window treatments, and accessories. For enhanced functionality, we added built-in storage throughout, reupholstered existing furniture and the breakfast nook in performance fabric, and created a custom dining table that seats a dozen. To keep the dining room coastal and informal, we paired plush head chairs with rattan-backed side chairs and accented with sea-foam and sandy-hued floor and window coverings. The addition of a murphy bed, as well as shelving and file storage, made the office more suited to their growing family’s needs. In the second office, a standing desk, as well as a customized craft desk with built-ins for specific supplies, transformed the area into a completely personalized and effective space. New furniture and a ceiling-length fireplace facade of soft ivory and gray stone transformed the family room into a cozy and welcoming retreat. The overall effect is a home that feels spacious, beachy, and comfortable.

The soaring cathedral ceilings and warm exposed beams were the only features to speak of in this non-descript open landing. Off the hallway near the kids’ rooms, its small size and open layout made it something in between a hallway and a room. While most might consider a TV or office nook for this space, its adjacency to the children’s quarters inspired the designer toward something more imaginative. Inspired by the bright open space, this design achieves a sort of Balinese treehouse aesthetic – and all of it is designed specifically for fun. Playful hanging beds swing freely on sisal rope, creating a beckoning space that draws in children and adults alike. The mattresses were filled especially with non-toxic, non-petroleum natural fiber fill to make them healthy to sleep and lounge on – and encased in removable, washable organic cotton slipcovers. As the children are young, the floor space (finished in non-toxic lacquer) is kept clear and available for sprawling play. What a gorgeous after transformation this room under went. The client's wanted a relaxing and tranquil feel to this space, and we accomplished this. The tall shower doors after taken down 2 walls makes this space larger looking. The shower has a built in seat bench the client's love and wanted. The large tiles 12 x 24 makes the floor more open and makes the space appear larger. The accessories really added that special touch to the space, giving it a welcome and inviting feeling. This North Shore, MA home features a thoughtfully designed transition area that blends functionality with clean, classic detailing. A built-in bench with beadboard wainscoting provides practical seating and storage beneath a row of wall hooks, creating an organized drop zone near the window. Adjacent to the home office area, the space serves as a flexible connection between work and living zones. Neutral tones, simple trim details, and durable flooring enhance both usability and visual continuity throughout the home.

Custom built by DCAM HOMES, one of Oakville’s most reputable builders. The distressed green island sits atop brown stained hardwood floors and creates a focal point at the center of this traditional kitchen. Topped with ubatuba granite, the island is home to three metal barstools painted ivory with sage green chenille seats. Visual Comfort globe pendants, in a mix of metals, marry the island’s antique brass bin pulls to the pewter hardware of the perimeter cabinetry. Breaking up the cream perimeter cabinets are large windows dressed with woven wood blinds. A window bench covered in a watery blue and green leaf pattern coordinates with the island and with the Walker Zanger glass tile backsplash. The backsplash and honed black granite countertop, wraps the kitchen in luxurious texture. The spacious room is equipped with stainless steel appliances from Thermador and Viking.
