Inspiration for an eclectic home design remodel in Vancouver

The client had Oak cabinets, circa 1990 with a raised panel cathedral arch style of door. The cabinets were refinished in a dark stain 5 years ago, which was done professionally. Unfortunately, the finish did not last and was peeling and flaking in numerous locations on the doors and cabinetry. The owners chose to have their existing cabinets refaced with Maple plywood veneer in a CC Café stain. The matching color solid maple doors selected were in a shaker style with a beveled edge detail; the drawer fronts were a solid maple slab type. New base shoe moldings were also added to complete the project. New Blum hinges were installed using Blumotion soft-close hinges. Amerock Antique Silver pulls were chosen to compliment the cabinet refacing project.

February 9th, 2021 marked day one of the first ever virtual Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS), which showcases hundreds of new products coming to the design industry in 2021 from brand names ranging from GE to Kohler. While LIVDEN didn’t exhibit at KBIS this year, our sustainable tile was featured at the Café Appliances’ showcase kitchen, Endless Optimist, designed by exhibit designer TK Wismer. The GE brand Café Appliances manufactures custom appliances ranging from brightly colored refrigerators to sleek coffee makers for modern homes. Their trade mark is “Distinct by Design,” and after touring their test kitchens at KBIS, you will see why. Tk featured the playful PUZZLE PIECE series in MINT on our recycled 12x12 Polar Ice Terrazzo as the kitchen backsplash.

This warm and refined kitchen renovation features sleek porcelain countertops that deliver durability with the elegance of natural stone. Bright brass finishes add a touch of glam and timeless charm, perfectly complementing the soft, sophisticated tones throughout the space. Café appliances anchor the design with a statement of both style and performance, while layered lighting and custom detailing make this kitchen as functional as it is beautiful—a true blend of modern luxury and everyday comfort.

Ashley Ausley, Southeastern Interiors Along with refinishing the cabinets, the homeowners choose a new granite countertop, backsplash, and paint color for this kitchen renovation. Santa Cecelia granite brings in rich creams, golds, browns, grays, and a hint of ruby. The Marazzi Summerville Cafe au Lait 2" x 4" herringbone tile is accented beautifully with Marazzi Romance Wrought Iron pencil liner detail and coordinating Marazzi Summerville Cafe au Lait 2" x 2" mosaic on a diamond pattern over the stove. Tec Power Grout Praline grout compliments the tile nicely. The space is finished off by Sherwin William's Compatible Cream paint.
