This flooring blends light tones and features small scratches, some knots, nail holes and some insect tracts. At the time of the European settlement Maple and Beech trees were the most common hardwoods in the forests of the Midwest. Both Maple and Beech are medium density hard woods with very little color or grain variation, because of this the two species were commonly used together. Imagine dropping a handful of flooring and installing it as it lay. Very labor intensive. 7 species of wood are included. 3" Tiger Wood, 3" Quarter sawn Red Oak, 3" Brazilian Cherry, 4" Hickory, 3" Maple, 4" Ash, 3" White Oak. I also collected some Curly Maple from a previous job and threw in a 9" wide piece of White oak flooring. Don't know if I'd ever do this again. 7 days to install about 125 sf. The rest of the room is straight lay, about 200 sf and took only 4 hours

Our #2 Grade Unfinished Hickory will come in 1’-7’ random length bundles. Average lengths will be between 2 ½’ to 2 ¾’ in length. #2 Common Grade Hickory flooring has much more color variation in comparison to both Select & Better and #1 Common Grade. Expect the flooring to contain larger sized knots and longer surface mineral streaks throughout the flooring. The flooring will have a four-sided tongue and groove for ease of installation.
