The living room in this mid-century remodel is open to both the dining room and kitchen behind. Tall ceilings and transom windows help the entire space feel airy and open, while open grained cypress ceilings add texture and warmth to the ceiling. Existing brick walls have been painted a warm white and floors are old growth walnut. White oak wood veneer was chosen for the custom millwork at the entertainment center. This whole-home remodel in Raleigh, NC blends warm organic textures with clean modern lines for a look that feels current but built to last. The kitchen remodel pairs white oak cabinetry with a contrasting white island, all wrapped in dramatic full-slab marble that runs from the countertops up the backsplash to a sculpted plaster-style range hood. Brass hardware, glass cone pendants, woven-back oak counter stools, and wide-plank white oak flooring keep the palette light and layered — a kitchen design that's as practical for family life as it is beautiful. In the two-story family room, our team designed around the dramatic ceiling height with an oversized gallery of landscape art, a deep white sectional, a caramel leather swivel chair, and a charcoal ottoman that grounds the space. The formal dining room design makes a bolder statement: a coffered ceiling and wall paneling in a rich espresso-black envelop a solid wood table with rope-back chairs, connected to the rest of the main floor through a series of arched openings. A casual dining nook nearby features a double-sided fireplace clad in large-format slate-look tile, a round pedestal table, and olive velvet chairs beneath a fluted drum pendant. As a full-service interior design firm in Raleigh, NC, Lavish led this project from kitchen design and materials selection through the living room, dining room, and finishing details — delivering a cohesive home design where every space connects.

Modern Dining Room in an open floor plan, sits between the Living Room, Kitchen and Backyard Patio. The modern electric fireplace wall is finished in distressed grey plaster. Modern Dining Room Furniture in Black and white is paired with a sculptural glass chandelier. Floor to ceiling windows and modern sliding glass doors expand the living space to the outdoors.

Cape Cod; Dennis, MA The central feature is the kitchen island with its dark, contrasting countertop and traditional turned legs, providing a classic farmhouse aesthetic. Paired with the island are three natural-wood bar stools with woven cane seats, which add warmth and texture to the room. The stools are perfectly positioned for casual dining or conversation. The kitchen's cabinetry is a clean, classic off white shaker style that extends to the refrigerator and a built-in wine cooler, creating a seamless and integrated look. The ceiling design varies, with one section featuring traditional beadboard paneling, a common coastal design element, adding depth and visual interest. Two polished metal pendant lights hang over the island, providing focused task lighting and a touch of modern sophistication. Natural light pours into the space from a large window above the sink, which is flanked by simple white countertops and a backsplash. A vase of fresh green flowers on the island and a wine bottle hint at the room's use for entertaining and everyday living. The warm, wood floors complete the space, tying the natural elements together and grounding the bright, off white design.
