This traditional Shaker Kitchen has a masculine feel with its chocolate lower cabinets and walls of subway tile. The apron farmhouse sink is the centerpiece of the galley juxtaposed with a contemporary pull-out faucet. By applying a mirror on the door it gives the impression that it leads to a Dining Room. A striking island occupies the center of a spacious kitchen in Bloomfield Hills. The HPL backed real wood veneer in Ebony Sabbiata from Tree Frog bridges the tonal distance between the walnut floors and all white cabinets and walls, creating harmony and visual balance. Full height backsplashes in shiny white are laid out in a windmill pattern, punctuated every so often with intricately designed accent squares. A combination of bold veining and delicate blooming on the Calacatta quartzite countertops contributes its subtle energy to the mix. The kitchen is separated into several independent vignettes, each one laid out symmetrically. The vast island with built in sink offers all the prep space a chef could need. The built in cooktop is centered directly behind to facilitate easy cooking, while an additional sink in the clean up area expedites after dinner chores. A walk-pantry and small home office are tucked in behind the refrigerator freezer wall. Multiple lighting details, including lighted cabinet interiors and a lighted display niche above the refrigerator, complete this stunning 2015 lake home.

This beautiful contemporary home office was designed for multiple activities. First we needed to provide all of the required office functions from computer and the associated hardware to a beautiful as well as functional desk and credenza. The unusual shape of the ceilings was a design inspiration for the cabinetry. Functional storage installed below open display centers brought together practical and aesthetic components. The furnishings were designed to allow work and relaxation in one space. comfortable sofa and chairs combined in a relaxed conversation area, or a spot for a quick afternoon nap. A built in bar and large screen TV are available for entertaining or lounging by the fire. cleverly concealed storage keeps firewood at hand for this wood-burning fireplace. A reworking of a bedroom space to create a master oasis. A tented effect was achieved with a striped wallpaper applied to walls and ceiling. Wood floors replaced carpet, and built-ins were tucked into niches for storage.
