This project is new construction. The client downsized from a large home in Leawood KS. For their new home they requested a neutral palette for all their furnishing and furniture that was comfortable, worked well with dogs and grandchildren. It was important that the style of the home and the furnishings not be to trendy but be classic in styling and age well with time. This home reflects many different layers of interesting material selections, including the mirrored back splash in the Kitchen and the marble accents in the bathroom, stunning high end furniture, fabrics, area rugs and drapery. Today I present a new project of my ethno-style mural. Several years ago I began to think about the development of modern interior design, since it is important for me not only to fill the space with things and colors, but also to express the very foundations, the origins of life. I spent a lot of time in museums of decorative arts in Paris, Vienna, London, studying samples of ancient culture. For several years I went on long ethnographic travels and collected a small collection of antiques and vintage items. My maternal grandmother was a People's Artist of Ukraine in the technique of national embroidery and gave me a big love for decorative arts. Today I present a project based on my research and new understanding of embroidery in a modern interior. Basis: ancient "Reshetilovskaya" embroidery from the Poltava region. I completed the mural by transferring the old pattern to the wall. The work lasted 6 months, including research, sketches, preparation, color schemes, fitting. I also used a bit of gilding. In the current environment, this type of interior decoration is sustainable, relevant, and very inspiring. The project has not been published anywhere before. If you are interested, I will send a photo and all the necessary materials and descriptions. I also have all my diplomas and certificates and ready to present them on request.

These 2 houses were built to benefit the long-term durability through the selection of efficient materials and process which will give a longer lifespan with lower maintenance and energy costs. This project was a perfect fit for us to assist in the design and execute the construction while working with some outstanding clients and consultants. A win for all of us! 
The original home was recycled hitting our target goals of 90%, leading way to a couple of stealth looking homes with performance levels right there with the best of them. Our mechanical engineer designed the mechanical systems to achieve maximum efficiency and hit our internal target goals that we have set for ourselves in accordance with our Vision here at Naikoon. These homes came in at EnerGuide score of 85% which can also be referenced in GJ with a score of 54GJ. To give you an idea of how this rating relates to an average home of this size, these 2 beauties on Mackay are about 80% more efficient. The main components in the design and equipment selection that leads to this are:
1) Space heating and Cooling
2) Water Heating
3) Lights and Appliances
4) Wall assemblies and insulation

Like all of our projects, we take pride in looking at the small details of the house. Things like, insulated water lines, domestic hot water heat recovery units, electric car plug-ins, solar power ready, extensive use of environmentally friendly materials, hot water heat pumps and stringent testing and inspection point along the way, led to a successful completion of 2 certified high-performance homes with Built Green Platinum and EnergyStar certifications.
