Located at a prominent corner on one of the few undeveloped residential sites left in Solana Beach, this project is important not only for the homeowner, but for the community as well. A rigorous site analysis laid the groundwork for a design response which took into account the homeowner’s program, input from the neighbors, and the scale of the project and the character of the neighborhood. The end result is a design that is well set into the existing grade, a move which preserves adjacent views and reduces the visual impact of the structure from the street; all while graciously meeting the desires of the owner. The plan is broken into six unique floor plates. The bottom four of which tie together along the gradually sloping site. An intentionally long southern exposure implements the basics of passive solar design: large amounts of glass bring in abundant light and warmth in the winter, while deep overhangs protect from unwanted summer heat gain. Ocean views to the west are selectively framed throughout the house without compromising privacy from the busy street corner. Public functions within the house flow seamlessly between indoor and outdoor living spaces. JLC Architecture was responsible for a full architecture and interior package as well as exterior hardscape design.

Our homes are so innovative, so personal and unique that it takes truly spectacular furnishings to complete their stories as well as speak to the emotions of everyone who visits our homes,” shares Kathy May, director of interior design at Blue Heron. “Cantoni has been the perfect partner in this endeavor in that, like Blue Heron, Cantoni is innovative and pushes boundaries.” Utilizing Cantoni’s extensive portfolio, the Blue Heron Interior Design team was able to customize nearly every piece in the home to create a thoughtful and curated look for each space. “Having access to so many high-quality and diverse furnishing lines enables us to think outside the box and create unique turnkey designs for our clients with confidence,” says Kathy May, adding that the quality and one-of-a-kind feel of the pieces are unmatched. rom the perfectly situated sectional in the downstairs family room to the unique blue velvet dining chairs, the home breathes modern elegance. “I particularly love the master bed,” says Kathy. “We had created a concept design of what we wanted it to be and worked with one of Cantoni’s longtime partners, to bring it to life. It turned out amazing and really speaks to the character of the room.” The combination of Cantoni’s soft contemporary touch and Blue Heron’s distinctive designs are what made this project a unified experience. “The partnership really showcases Cantoni’s capabilities to manage projects like this from presentation to execution,” shares Luca Mazzolani, vice president of sales at Cantoni. “We work directly with the client to produce custom pieces like you see in this home and ensure a seamless and successful result.” And what a stunning result it is. New construction build by Greg Welch Construction and interiors by Legum Design. Located in the elegant neighborhood and golf community of Tetherow in Bend, Oregon. A clean, all white palette in this spec home shows a bright kitchen off-set by the oak flooring and hickory island. Glass lighting globes, brick fireplace and wood beams provide warmth throughout. Storage for the interior of the home is found in the well-thoughtout built-ins in both natural wood finishes and pained white furniture pieces.

Beazer Homes took home the prize for Residential Community of the Year for Ballard Green, a 521 lot community located in Owings Mills, MD. Amenities include a pool, a community center, a tot lot, and 12.1 acres of open space along with Baltimore County's newest elementary school, Lyons Mill Elementary, which is the centerpiece of the community. The site also includes the Plinlimmon Farm, an existing farmhouse built in the 1800s and two auxiliary structures. CBI collaborated with the Landmark Preservation Commission to maintain each building's character and worked to restore the structures for adaptive reuse as office space. Ultimately the development will feature a number of different attached home designs: 20', 22' & 24' wide townhomes (both front load and rear load), two-over-two stacked townhomes and several 27-unit condominium buildings. The property is being developed by Beazer Homes with active involvement by Land Development Services, Morris, Ritchie and Associates, Geo-Technology Associates and Gaylord Brooks Land Development.
