The concept behind this beautiful traditional kitchen renovation was to enhance existing characteristics of the room. The great natural light, lofted ceiling to the left of the kitchen, creating a light, airy atmosphere. We felt keeping the palette light and clean in terms of cabinetry and backsplash enhanced the warmth of the hardwood flooring.
The style is traditional but timeless. Details like door style, the detailing on the island legs, crown molding, and decorative accents like corbels are what give this beautiful kitchen it’s charm. From each vantage point there is a focal area, like the undermount sink anchored by the perimeter windows and upper cabinetry, the feature area in the backsplash above the cook-top and below the custom hood, and the stunning kitchen island with extended countertop for additional seating.

This homeowner’s outdoor living area was redesigned to add some elegant characteristics. In order to do this, various materials were used. The retaining walls found along the property were made from PA Fieldstone Wallstone. The textures and various colors found throughout this stone easily enhance the outdoor area and offer visual stimulation.
Ashler pattern brownstone was used throughout the patio, creating a clean and polished look. This patio surrounded a beautiful swimming pool that was aligned with brownstone caps along the border. The materials that were used in this landscape exterior created a relaxing and enjoyable space, perfect for the family.

The curved line, without doubt, is the main Dune characteristic that has the Pedini imprint. Also a clear Pedini trademark are the custom designed cooker hob/sink, that are integrated in the special shaped worktops. The equilibrium among taste, style and function is exalted by refined aesthetical choices, rich of winding softness.

The Skovby SM 39 dining table has a very characteristic design with a sculptural V-shaped base.
Easy and simple extension of the table
The dynamic appearance of the dining table is emphasized by an undivided tabletop and the same patented extension system as in the Skovby SM 38 dining table; a light push to the tabletop reveals the hidden extension leaf, which is easily put into place in continuation of the dining tabletop.
The advantage of this base is that you can place the chairs around the dining table as you please, without having to consider the dining table legs.
The dining table will seat 10 people when fully extended.

This homeowner wanted to create a traditional space that would still feed modern and fresh. To accomplish this, we used light and bright materials, warm neutrals, and special touches of classic and traditional American design. The cabinetry is a warm white, complete with hand applied glazing, distressing, and over sanded edges, exposing the natural wood. The lighting and plumbing fixtures use old-world bronze tones, but with a modern farmhouse design flair. The counters offer subdued variation. The back-splash tiles have a handmade aesthetic, complete with undulated surface texture and subtle color variation, that high lights the artisan characteristic running through this space

Grain & Saw is a subtle reclaimed look inspired by 14th-century handcrafted guilds, paired with the latest materials this collection will compliment every interior. At a time when Guild associations worked with merchants and artisans to protect one of kind handcrafted products the touch & feel of the work is unmistakably rich. Every board is unique, every pattern is distinct and full of personality… designed with juxtaposing striking characteristics of hand tooled saw marks and enhanced natural grain allowing the ebbs and flows of the wood species to be at the forefront.

Victorian tiles are very hard-wearing and historically a popular choice for heavy traffic areas such as hallways. Still popular today they are nonetheless like most tiles and can become ingrained with dirt over time.
This particular floor, located in a property in the old market town of Tewkesbury is a good example of a floor that was in good physical condition, but heavily ingrained with dirt due to a lack of regular maintenance. At a loss for how to remedy the situation by themselves, the property owner asked me to pay a visit to restore the tiles back to their best possible condition.
In this particular scenario, I opted to mix and apply a solution of different cleaning products from our professional range, each serving a different purpose. These products were Tile Doctor Pro Clean, Tile Doctor Remove and Go, and Tile Doctor NanoTech HBU. Remove and Go serves the purpose of stripping away any old sealer on the tiles, while Pro Clean is an alkaline cleaner that reliably removes dirt and staining. NanoTech HBU is a particularly powerful cleaner which utilises nano-sized particles to penetrate deep into the pores of the stone, get underneath difficult stains and lift them out.
I spread this potent solution across the length and width of the tiled hallway and left it to soak for approximately 10 minutes, before using a black scrubbing pad fitted to my buffing machine to give the tiles a deep scrub. Next, I rinsed the soiled solution away and neutralised the chemicals with plain water, before extracting any residue using a wet vacuum. I repeated the cleaning process several times to achieve the best results possible, and I also employed the aid of a steam cleaner to spot clean any particularly stubborn marks.
Cleaning the floor took two days in total. At the end of the second day, I gave the floor a thorough and final rinse before leaving it to dry completely overnight. The next day, I returned to the property to seal the floor after checking the floor was dry. Ensuring before sealing that the floor is completely dry is crucial – even the smallest quantity of moisture remaining can potentially cloud the sealer and damage its performance.
My choice of sealer was Tile Doctor Colour Grow, an impregnating sealer that penetrates and fills the pores of the tile to prevent trapped dirt and makes regular cleaning much easier. Colour Grow is a great choice of sealer for Victorian tiles because it really enhances the colourful patterns which are characteristic of this type of tile.
My customer was very impressed with the service and remarked on the huge improvement to the appearance of the floor. You can see this for yourself – just take a look at the before and after photos!

Housed atop a sand dune overlooking a crescent shaped beach, this updated innovative shingle style home replaced an existing vacation home our clients purchased a number of years ago. Significantly upgrading what was previously there, the single characteristic they wanted to maintain was a curved glass element that made the home distinctly identifiable from the beach. The height of the dune is unique for the area and well above flood plane which permits living space on all three levels of the home. Choreographed to fit within the natural landscape, guests entering the home from the front porch are immediately greeted with stunning views of the ocean. Delicate wood paneling and textural details are illuminated by abundant natural light flooding the home. East and West facing stairs are greeted with a wash of sunlight in the morning and evening, illuminating paths to breakfast and returning to rest. Photo by Brennan Wesley

Located in rural western Sonoma County, this artist studio and garage are placed adjacent to a modest late 19th century farmhouse. The design envisioned a simple space, which would integrate with and embrace the landscape, while capturing the vocabulary of farm structures.
Both buildings consist of a pre-manufactured Quonset hut ribbed roof, raised on a six foot board-formed concrete stem wall. The two buildings have end walls with 10 foot by 12 foot openings, a glass garage door and three folding patio doors surrounded by cement panel walls. Quonset ribs are a self-supporting structure of galvanized metal. It was initially assumed that such a roof structure would save costs, but that ultimately was not true due to the modifications necessary to make it completely watertight, rural fire zone requirements and energy efficiency measures. The concrete stem walls are exposed board form and the garage features an imbedded stone wall sculpture from Borobudur, Indonesia.
The garage building is oversized to allow for a future glass studio or workshop at the rear. A fiberglass skylight is integrated into the ribs and provides additional daylight. The second building, which functions as an art studio, has insulated walls and ceilings with double glazed windows and doors. The vaulted roof and its insulation is sheathed with ash plywood with integrated LED lighting at the perimeter. To maintain the light throughout the studio structure, translucent plastic panels were utilized above the concrete for the areas enclosing the toilet and shower space and the service sink areas. The sliding bar wood and metal barn door were reused from the farmhouse.
Sustainability was considered from the design, selection of materials, energy conservation and ongoing construction waste recycling. The design began with a simple form, allowing for cross ventilation and daylighting. A minimal palette of materials were selected while maximizing their use. Materials were chosen for their multi-use characteristics, to be used as structure and well as finish, where possible, such as the concrete walls, manufactured Quonset hut roofing system and cement panels. The ribs of the vaulted roof system sit atop 10” concrete stem which adds to the thermal mass of the building. The garage building is unconditioned allowing for a single layer of materials. The artist studio is well insulated, double glazed with low-e glass; a hydronic radiant heat system supplied by a 99.8 efficient on-demand water heater is powered by photovoltaic panels.
