It takes inspiration from the Moorish style of Andalusian architecture and it is characterised by its severe and essential lines. The empty spaces, created by the particular making of the yarn, bring to mind the arches of the Palace of Carlos V in Granada. A touch of Spain in your house.

Lauren Smyth designs over 80 spec homes a year for Alturas Homes! Last year, the time came to design a home for herself. Having trusted Kentwood for many years in Alturas Homes builder communities, Lauren knew that Brushed Oak Whisker from the Plateau Collection was the floor for her!
She calls the look of her home ‘Ski Mod Minimalist’. Clean lines and a modern aesthetic characterizes Lauren's design style, while channeling the wild of the mountains and the rivers surrounding her hometown of Boise.

An aroma of change has wafted through the kitchen, transforming the traditionally modest space into an oasis of luxury and gastronomical explorations. In the past, the kitchen was the embodiment of stuffiness and jaded décor, but the modern kitchen now serves as a social sanctuary and a space for culinary escapades. The Q2 Kitchen by Pedini is a classic reminder of the transitional nature of the kitchen space. Characterized by sleek, flat paneled cabinetry trimmed in clean lines, this fixture will offer any kitchen an intriguingly modern sensibility.
Designed with a combination of self-supporting and wall hanging cabinetry, the Q2 Kitchen by Pedini offers varied storage solutions with an emphasis on provision, functionality, and above all, sophistication. With a wide selection of cabinet styles, the contemporary homemaker will effortlessly create customized kitchen layouts which personify their tastes and varied needs. Even under budgetary constraints, the assorted nature of Q2 elements makes it possible to design a uniquely functional culinary oasis.
Created with varying heights and widths, each configuration of this system is designed to make use of both horizontal and vertical areas of a given kitchen space. Its organically versatile nature renders it to unlimited design and finishing options including a wide selection of high gloss lacquer, textured and matte finishes, and laminated colors. For the naturist at heart, eco wood and glass finishing trimmed with aluminum edges are additional finishing options used to embellish this modern kitchen system.
Which cabinetry design would perfectly suit your kitchen: wall hanging or self-supporting?

Mimicking the form of a gliding bird that is gently brushing the water surface, the Edge House sits in seamless harmony with its site and context. The house is generally characterized by a solid monolithic sculptural form which smoothly swoops over and appears to be suspended on top of the building's glass. This creates the feel of delicacy, and a display of boldness of the building form.

Driving through the Hancock Park area in LA, a particular abode sticks out on the corner: a 1921 Tudor Revival that is nearly as old as the neighborhood itself. When Meghan and her entertainment manager husband Alex purchased the house, planning to move in with their 3 sons to boot, they wondered if such a historic setting could possibly be right for a young family. She hired Katherine Carter, hoping that she would breathe some modernity into the house without completely paving over the historic details.
The result is a sun-washed 8,500 square-foot home, perfect for a growing crew. Sleek and bright spaces characterize more “adult” spaces, but the rooms for the boys are a riot of colors. And you can’t miss the graphic wallpapers!

Our lovely Gamma doorstyle, in satin laminate, breathes elegance and sophistication. Gamma is the answer to a real design challenge: a kitchen without handles. The project consist in a renovation of a ex-commercial space characterized by only one big opening facing the street the goal was to create a little condo of 8 units, each one with view, light, aeration and privacy.
The project is located in an industrial area, in the northern part of Playa del Carmen, on the ground level of a three storey building, in a space was previously a storage space and a carpentry. The challenge of this project was to find a plan that could fit all the apartments and satisfy all the basic needs of each one of the apartments. The area of the floor was only about 300m² and the internal height 5m. The only source of light was the front window that occupy almost all the front wall. On one side was possible to open some little windows and on the other two sides I had to find my way to do it as well, because those sides were in contact with other constructions or a different lot. Every unit has a mezzanine, that divides the living room and kitchen on the first floor and the bedroom and bathroom upstairs. Since the fan shape plan was choose as the best option, all the internal areas of the apartments doesn't correspond to a regular polygon. in order to solve the problematic of the reduced space every unit has a different design theme that fills this gap.

The kitchen is a convenient and elegant entertaining space with large marble countertops, a waterfall island and dual sinks. Beautifully tiled bathrooms are found throughout the home and have soaking tubs and walk-in showers. On the second floor, light filters through oversized windows into the bedrooms and bathrooms, and on the third floor, there is additional space for a sizable game room. The new construction luxury home was designed by our Carmel design-build studio with the concept of 'hygge' in mind – crafting a soothing environment that exudes warmth, contentment, and coziness without being overly ornate or cluttered. Inspired by Scandinavian style, the design incorporates clean lines and minimal decoration, set against soaring ceilings and walls of windows. These features are all enhanced by warm finishes, tactile textures, statement light fixtures, and carefully selected art pieces.
In the living room, a bold statement wall was incorporated, making use of the 4-sided, 2-story fireplace chase, which was enveloped in large format marble tile. Each bedroom was crafted to reflect a unique character, featuring elegant wallpapers, decor, and luxurious furnishings. The primary bathroom was characterized by dark enveloping walls and floors, accentuated by teak, and included a walk-through dual shower, overhead rain showers, and a natural stone soaking tub.
An open-concept kitchen was fitted, boasting state-of-the-art features and statement-making lighting. Adding an extra touch of sophistication, a beautiful basement space was conceived, housing an exquisite home bar and a comfortable lounge area.
