The original kitchen underwent some workflow changes prior to the refacing project. A new pantry cabinet and over the fridge cabinet were added, the fridge was repositioned and a new fridge gable was installed. The desk knee-space was eliminated in favor of a new cabinet with lower storage and cutlery size drawers.
The original cabinet door/drawer fronts were a simple raised panel maple in a clear varnish. Water damage around the cooking/sink area and sun damage to the doors, etc. required a complete face lift by ‘refacing’.
The refacing material is in Cherry veneer with a Charisma colored stain. Matching color doors and drawer fronts feature a Cherry Shaker style using 3/8” thick center panels. Blum soft-close hinges and new ‘customer sourced’ stainless handles were installed.
New counter ‘task-lighting’ was added and new task light valances were installed to conceal this feature. Then a new subway tiled backsplash and new Cherry crown molding were installed to complete this beautiful new kitchen.

The customer elected to reface their existing oak kitchen with a more modern look. They chose a Shaker style of cabinet door, opting for a Satin White finish on solid Maple for the main part of the kitchen and a contrasting Charisma (dark) color stain on Maple wood for the island. New Granite counters were installed along with a new tiles backsplash. Storage enhancements were added to make some of the cabinets more accessible/user friendly, and more functional. New stainless steel pulls were installed to provide the “perfect” finishing touch to this beautiful new kitchen.

For this kitchen remodeling project, the homeowner was looking to make their kitchen larger and more functional. However, the kitchen was the original to this old farmhouse, so it was important to them to preserve an older look and not go to modern looking. To accomplish this, we started by tearing out some walls to expand the kitchen out which also allowed us to add a counter eating area along one wall. We also tore out an old closet and converted that into a pantry space. The new cabinets were done in our Scandia door in a Carmel color from our Kitchen Solvers Classic Collection line. Next, we installed a Charisma linear tile backsplash and a quartz countertop in Topaz. To finish the new look, we added new Edgefield cabinet tab pull hardware. Now these homeowners have the new kitchen they have been dreaming of.
