We created this stunning moody library lounge inspired by the client's love of British Cigar Rooms. We used pattern, texture and moody hues to bring out the feel of the library and used the gorgeous Tom Dixon lamp, Restoration Hardware contemporary writing desk, client's gorgeous folk indian painting, and custom cabinetry to give the library/study a very modern yet classical feel!

The grand living room needed large focal pieces, so our design team began by selecting the large iron chandelier to anchor the space. The black iron of the chandelier echoes the black window trim of the two story windows and fills the volume of space nicely. The plain fireplace wall was underwhelming, so our team selected four slabs of premium Calcutta gold marble and butterfly bookmatched the slabs to add a sophisticated focal point. Tall sheer drapes add height and subtle drama to the space. The comfortable sectional sofa and woven side chairs provide the perfect space for relaxing or for entertaining guests. Woven end tables, a woven table lamp, woven baskets and tall olive trees add texture and a casual touch to the space. The expansive sliding glass doors provide indoor/outdoor entertainment and ease of traffic flow when a large number of guests are gathered.

The prior owner lived there from 1940s until she died at age of 98! The old home had loads of character and charm but was in pretty bad condition and desperately needed updates. The clients purchased the home a few years ago and did some work before they moved in (roof, HVAC, electrical) but decided to live in the house for a 6 months or so before embarking on the next renovation phase. I had worked with the clients previously on the wife's office space and a few projects in a previous home including the nursery design for their first child so they reached out when they were ready to start thinking about the interior renovations. The goal was to respect and enhance the historic architecture of the home but make the spaces more functional for this couple with two small kids. Clients were open to color and some more bold/unexpected design choices. The design style is updated traditional with some eclectic elements. An early design decision was to incorporate a dark colored french range which would be the focal point of the kitchen and to do dark high gloss lacquered cabinets in the adjacent coffee bar, and we ultimately went with dark green.

This study was designed with a young family in mind. A longhorn fan a black and white print was featured and used family photos and kids artwork for accents. Adding a few accessories on the bookcase with favorite books on the shelves give this space finishing touches. A mid-century desk and chair was recommended from CB2 to give the space a more modern feel but keeping a little traditional in the mix. Navy Wall to create bring your eye into the room as soon as you walk in from the front door.

Our team was thrilled to design and furnish a beautiful blush nursery for baby Sloan's imminent arrival. The large scale rose wallpaper was the inspiration for the room's feminine design. Pale gray walls provide a quiet backdrop to the patterned wallpaper. Blush window treatments, crisp white furniture, and beautifully detailed children's artwork finish the space. The natural light flooding through the windows provides a tranquil space for a newborn baby.

This second floor office was converted into a Kids Study Room - complete with built in bookshelves and desks, custom painted antique mirrors, and a huge comfy sectional for lounging. We started with an existing rug and built a rich color palette from it with terra-cotta and golds adding warm color to the space. Layered in lots of patterned throw pillows and custom desk cushions to add fun and texture. We even added a wall painted with dry erase paint for homework help!

The study of the Falcon II model has vibrant green painted walls, white wainscoting that is 42” high with bull nose cap. An additional window was added to the study.

This playful children’s bedroom for two grandsons designed by Mary Anne Smiley, was to bridge the small child to adult gap with furnishings that were fun and youthful in look and feel, but that would transition for the boys as they grow, and would be enjoyable now even to adults guests. This would mean simple clean backgrounds, cutting edge furnishings, vibrant art, and soft supple mix of textures from sleek shiny metallic and acrylic to colorful vinyl for upholstery and resin for desk top, furry Tibetan Lamb long and short and classic furniture pieces that always seem fresh at any stage.
