LiLu’s most recent work with these long-time clients was to freshen up significant spaces in their Minneapolis home. Staying true to our original concept of creating a traditional, welcoming, and comfortable retreat, these homeowners have expanded on their love for living and entertaining in a sophisticated, yet casual style. The great room is light and bright, featuring two large sofas that anchor the seating areas on both ends of the room. Original pieces of furniture were covered in neutral fabrics that emphasize texture. Accessories inject color and detail into the space. The dining area invites guests to pull up a reupholstered chair and enjoy long conversations around the custom-designed table. A large area rug stretches across the floor as a natural centerpiece of color and pattern. It’s one of several, including the whimsical take on a tree of life, that are custom-designed for the space. The guest room was updated to be more inviting for returning adult children and their spouses. Previous furnishings were replaced with nightstands and a large, custom bed that more closely complement the sophisticated feel of the rest of the home. ----- Project designed by Minneapolis interior design studio LiLu Interiors. Posh Playhouse 2.0

Before purchasing their early 20th-century Prairie-style home, perfect in so many ways for their growing family, the parents asked LiLu whether its imperfections could be remedied. Specifically, they were sad to leave a kid-focused happy home full of color, pattern, texture, and durability thanks to LiLu. Could the new house, with lots of woodwork, be made brighter and lighter? Of course. In the living areas, LiLu selected a high-gloss turquoise paint that reflects light for selected cabinets and the fireplace surround; the color complements original handmade blue-green tile in the home. Graphic floral and abstract prints, and furnishings and accessories in lively shades of pink, were layered throughout to create a bright, playful aesthetic. Elsewhere, staircase spindles were painted turquoise to bring out their arts-and-craft design and heighten the abstract wallpaper and striped runner. Wallpaper featuring 60s-era superheroes, metallic butterflies, cartoon bears, and flamingos enliven other rooms of the house. In the kitchen, an orange island adds zest to cream-colored cabinets and brick backsplash. Raleigh NC Commercial Interior Design — Drool & Co Premium Baby Boutique

This commercial interior design project in Raleigh NC by Lavish brings a warm, elevated retail experience to life for Drool & Co, a premium baby boutique. Our client wanted a boutique that felt as considered as the products on its shelves — polished, welcoming, and photogenic for a design-savvy clientele. Lavish designed the space around a custom fluted-wood reception desk set beneath an arched, hand-finished plaster feature wall, framed by sculptural lighting and soft lotus sconces. Against dramatic black ceilings and warm wood flooring, layered statement chandeliers, open display shelving, and thoughtful merchandising fixtures keep the retail floor bright, shoppable, and full of personality. The result is a commercial space that strengthens the brand and invites customers to linger. Pool Polish

The picture our clients had in mind was a boutique hotel lobby with a modern feel and their favorite art on the walls. We designed a space perfect for adult and tween use, like entertaining and playing billiards with friends. We used alder wood panels with nickel reveals to unify the visual palette of the basement and rooms on the upper floors. Beautiful linoleum flooring in black and white adds a hint of drama. Glossy, white acrylic panels behind the walkup bar bring energy and excitement to the space. We also remodeled their Jack-and-Jill bathroom into two separate rooms – a luxury powder room and a more casual bathroom, to accommodate their evolving family needs. --- Project designed by Minneapolis interior design studio LiLu Interiors. Project Homeworks takes a balanced approach to their job: clients needs, trends and budget. At Project Homeworks we value and respect our clients and strive to produce pleasing results for them and their environment in an efficient and timely manner. Cyndi began her decorating experience working for a specialty home decor and linen store, where she found her interest growing towards window displays for the company. Over the years, she honed her skills of interior design, such as colour and balance, through building several of her and her husband's homes. This grew into a business and Project:Homeworks was born in 2000. After several lottery houses, showrooms and private residences, Cyndi continues to find enjoyment and satisfaction in creating a warm environment for Project:Homeworks clientele

Ohana Mau Loa

Chris and Marna believe in Ohana Mau Loa which means “family forever.” As return clients, they knew LiLu could help them build a vacation home in Hawaii that would provide a desirable and comfortable gathering place for four adult children and their spouses and 11 grandchildren. A central common space at the heart of the home with separate living quarters surrounding it helps to accommodate everyone with both shared and personal living spaces. Each has its own personality that showcases playful references to Big Island life. And yet the overall design concept weaves together a love of world travel with traditional tastes. Built with mahogany wood that is a staple of island construction, treasured heirlooms and other personal keepsakes are the perfect complement to make this dream home feel welcoming and familiar. Fabrics, finishes and furnishings were selected with the sea in mind and to accommodate wet swim suits, bare feet, and sandy shoes. ----- Project designed by Minneapolis interior design studio LiLu Interiors.
