Eclectic dining room photo in Nashville

At the opposite end of the twins' bedroom is the work area. The table was custom made during the time that some of the children were being home schooled, so it needed to be a good size with lots of room to spread out. Above the workspace, another piece by Ann Carrington creates a dramatic focal point. A portrait of Michael Jordan, the piece is constructed from layers upon layers of old cut basketballs. Closed storage is kept to a minimum, even in the boys' room. In order to prevent clutter, objects are given away when they have lived out their use by the family. "We hate clutter", says Cortney. Although Jennifer has always redesigned the look of their rooms every 4-5 years, this time around comes with a different perspective. "Now that [the kids] are all moved out and it is just my husband and I, I finally have had the ability to have fun with the house," Jennifer explains. "I have always redecorated every couple years, but this time has been my favorite. I can finally get rid of the clutter and stuff and find chic, fun pieces I know won't get a ball thrown through them." Location: Brooklyn, NY, United States This brand-new townhouse at Pierhouse, Brooklyn was a gorgeous space, but was crying out for some personalization to reflect our clients vivid, sophisticated and lively design aesthetic. Bold Patterns and Colors were our friends in this fun and eclectic project. Our amazing clients collaborated with us to select the fabrics for the den's custom Roche Bobois Mah Jong sofa and we also customized a vintage swedish rug from Doris Leslie Blau. for the Living Room Our biggest challenge was to capture the space under the Staircase so that it would become usable for this family. We created cubby storage, a desk area, coat closet and oversized storage. We even managed to fit in a 12' ladder - not an easy feat! Photographed by: James Salomon
