A chic and sophisticated space is not typically words you would use to describe a Bachelor Pad...right? Wrong! This bachelor wanted his home to be clean, sophisticated and still cozy. Not the typical black "pleather" futons and bean bag chairs. THANK GOD! So Senior Designer, Cori Dyer got right to work! Beginning with the layout and space plan, you can see that this large two story ling room has a bit of an odd layout...Open to the dining room, and the foyer, fireplace on one side along with his baby grand piano, flanked with french doors to the patio and lake. While the other side housed the TV. We like to try and create one focal point, however, this room wouldn't allow it. So creating separate seating groups that worked together and cohesively was what this room needed.

Example of a mid-sized trendy l-shaped light wood floor, beige floor and vaulted ceiling eat-in kitchen design in San Francisco with an undermount sink, shaker cabinets, medium tone wood cabinets, wood countertops, green backsplash, granite backsplash, stainless steel appliances, an island and brown countertops

Transforming this open loft space into a functional and stylish family room was no small feat. Serving as both a central gathering area and a thoroughfare to other top-floor rooms, the layout presented unique challenges. Shweta boldly embraced these obstacles by enveloping the entire space in a rich, moody green hue, creating an illusion of greater expanse.
With a keen eye for design, she meticulously zoned the room into distinct yet interconnected areas: a cozy seating ensemble, a captivating TV focal point, a practical hallway, and a custom-built bar. Remarkably, Shweta's DIY prowess came to the fore as she tackled every aspect of the project herself, from installing shiplap and a striking wallpaper mural to constructing the bespoke bar.
To furnish this versatile space, she selected a sophisticated linen sectional complemented by laid-back bean bag chairs, while opting for ottomans over a traditional coffee table to maximize comfort and flexibility. The bar area cleverly incorporates storage solutions, ensuring the room remains uncluttered and adaptable to various styling preferences. A curated collection of thrifted artwork adorns the walls, infusing the space with character and a delightful blend of old and new.

The den for this particular beach house project means family time. It’s the destination for watching a movie on the sofa or hosting a board game night. The multipurpose functionality requirements were this room’s biggest challenge. We solved this design challenge by defining a clear area for conversation and watching the television (featuring another stunning Cisco sofa and super-fun luxe bean bags for the comfiest lounging).

Mid-sized trendy l-shaped light wood floor, beige floor and vaulted ceiling eat-in kitchen photo in San Francisco with an undermount sink, shaker cabinets, medium tone wood cabinets, wood countertops, green backsplash, granite backsplash, stainless steel appliances, an island and brown countertops

The combination of Rustic and Craftsman styles with a modern add-on of high end appliances and a modern layout created this masterpiece of a kitchen.
The cabinets are painted off-white with antique glazing on it and the island is completely built from 100 year old reclaimed wood. the hardware is distressed iron finish and a black cement farmhouse sink all add to the story this kitchen tells.
The full height pantry wall holds the 36" fridge, a built-in microwave space, the built-in espresso machine and a hidden door to the laundry room hiding in a room behind.
We have intentionally did only 2 small wall mounted cabinets and instead opt with two 92" windows to allow maximum natural light, this also creates an open feeling in the work space.
The edge detail of the island countertop is hand chiseled to give a rough sensation and works wonderfully with the reclaimed wood island, while the main countertop boasts a straight edge detail to give a modern touch.
