Perectly balanced, this dramatic black and white bathroom is a stunner. Thoughtful design was top of mind for these clients as they approached the Renovisions team to help narrow down their choices and bring it to life. Finding balance while mixing darker, heavier black finishes and lighter, white finishes was the task at hand and the goal was to create a modern look with an industrial/rustic feel.
The challenge on this project was incorporating all the desired elements and products in a tight spatial constraint of 9’ x 7.5’. The clients biggest concern in the old bathroom was inadequate storage, tired and under-utilized bathtub and they also needed an additional sink for their two daughters who often share this space. Renovisions recommended removing the wall between the shower and closet to gain additional floor space as you enter the bath, while providing wall space for the three towel bars.
Collaborating with the clients and searching to find the right fixtures paid off nicely. This newly remodeled Renovision accommodated two rectangular sinks, a walk-in shower with hand-held shower, wall-mounted shower head and two soft spray body jets. The oil-rubbed bronze fixtures not only provided a luxurious spa experience, but also added warmth and softness to the vintage feel. The glass shower enclosure is trimmed in a matte black grid that boasts an industrial aesthetic with retro feel while delivering modernistic function. It’s unique in appearance while allowing the chic white subway and black and white diamond tile to peek through.
The beautifully designed cabinetry in a matte black painted finish provides plenty of storage. This smart configuration included two banks of three drawers for toiletries and accessories, two towers with adjustable shelves for towels and two ‘garage’ doors for hair dryers.
Another unique design detail to capture attention was the black and white curvy geometric floor tile which plays off the straight lines of the cabinets and square grids of the shower enclosure.
The clients are thrilled with the results and their modern, high-contrast styled digs – a true customized relaxation sanctuary for the entire family.

Refined Everyday Living
Cabinetry design doesn’t stop at the kitchen.
In this Nokesville home, we collaborated with the homeowners to create four thoughtfully designed bathroom vanities — each tailored to its specific space while maintaining a cohesive feel throughout the home.
For the guest bath and two master baths, we selected Mantra Cabinetry in solid wood with the Omni door style, finished in Beachwood stain. The warmth of the stain brings softness and approachability to everyday routines, while the clean-lined door profile keeps the look timeless and uncluttered.
In the Jack and Jill bath, we introduced contrast with the Omni door style in the Admiral paint option — adding depth and character while still maintaining design continuity.
By repeating the same door style across all four spaces, we ensured visual harmony. By varying finish selections, we allowed each bathroom to feel intentional and appropriately scaled to its function.
Refinement isn’t about excess.
It’s about thoughtful decisions that elevate everyday living.

We were approached by a Karen, a renowned sculptor, and her husband Tim, a retired MD, to collaborate on a whole-home renovation and furnishings overhaul of their newly purchased and very dated “forever home” with sweeping mountain views in Tigard. Karen and I very quickly found that we shared a genuine love of color, and from day one, this project was artistic and thoughtful, playful, and spirited. We updated tired surfaces and reworked odd angles, designing functional yet beautiful spaces that will serve this family for years to come. Warm, inviting colors surround you in these rooms, and classic lines play with unique pattern and bold scale. Personal touches, including mini versions of Karen’s work, appear throughout, and pages from a vintage book of Audubon paintings that she’d treasured for “ages” absolutely shine displayed framed in the living room.
Partnering with a proficient and dedicated general contractor (LHL Custom Homes & Remodeling) makes all the difference on a project like this. Our clients were patient and understanding, and despite the frustrating delays and extreme challenges of navigating the 2020/2021 pandemic, they couldn’t be happier with the results.

Home Office in Bronco | Key Feature: A Scottsdale new-build rooted in sculptural modernism, Bronco Revival balances bold black-and-white contrast with organic textures, natural wood elements, and statement lighting. As a groundbreaking “Live Lab” designer residence, it’s a first-of-its-kind space where luxury furnishings are tested in real-world conditions before being introduced into high-profile client homes.
Challenge: Because Bronco Revival was the designer’s personal residence, the project carried a unique level of pressure and intention. The challenge was creating a Scottsdale new-build that felt elevated and editorial while still functioning as a true family home. Every selection had to balance bold sculptural modernism (high contrast, statement lighting, architectural furnishings) with durability, comfort, and day-to-day livability. In addition, the home served as a “Live Lab,” meaning new vendors, materials, and luxury furnishings needed to be tested in real-life conditions before being trusted for future high-profile client projects.
Solution: We approached the project with a highly curated, test-and-refine design strategy, treating each space as both a finished interior and a real-world evaluation environment. Key furnishings, textiles, and materials were selected to support the modern organic vision while also standing up to the demands of everyday family life. We worked through selections intentionally, layering in bold contrast, natural woods, and sculptural statement pieces, while prioritizing performance materials, pet-friendly durability, and timeless foundational elements. By using the home as a lived-in showroom, we were able to validate what truly performs beautifully, refine our vendor relationships, and confidently carry those proven selections into future client designs.

Welcome to Mediterranean Marvel, a testament to the transformative journey guided by our client’s dreams and our dedication at JRP Design & Remodel. This project exemplifies our commitment to creating homes that reflect personal style and enhance everyday living.
In the initial phase, we focused on revitalizing the family room and kitchen, spaces that felt confined and dim. By replacing traditional windows with a sweeping bi-folding door, we seamlessly integrated indoor and outdoor living, flooding the space with natural light and inviting California’s beauty inside. This redesign not only expanded the living area but also redefined how our clients experience their home, fostering a connection to the outdoors that enriches daily life.
Simultaneously, the kitchen underwent a remarkable transformation into a bright, inviting culinary hub. With spacious countertops and an open layout, the new kitchen became a gathering place for family and friends, where culinary creativity and cherished memories converge.
In the subsequent phase, our attention turned to crafting a luxurious upstairs primary suite. Here, we aimed to create a haven of tranquility and sophistication, blending modern comforts with timeless elegance. The result is a sanctuary where our clients can retreat, unwind, and recharge amidst surroundings tailored to their desires.
At JRP Design & Remodel, our approach is rooted in understanding our clients’ aspirations and translating them into spaces that exceed expectations. Mediterranean Marvel is more than a renovation; it’s a narrative of collaboration and craftsmanship, where each decision is guided by our clients’ vision for their ideal home.

This property was originally a 5,900 square foot home built in 1975. Our client approached us with the task of collaborating to renovate and “pop-the-top” on this split-level home with the intention of selling the property at project completion. Throughout the design process we worked alongside the client and contractor to create a home that is light-filled and entertainment focused with large windows and lots of space for gathering with friends and family. The resulting work is now a modern 8,000 square foot luxury residence with a two-story living room space, kitchen with adjacent butler’s pantry, 6 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, a rec-room with built-in bar, and all the amenities one could hope for. The home also contains both a standard two-car garage as well as an oversized recreation garage to house a boat or RV. Some of our favorite design features include the grand entry with its wood exterior and tall windows, and the folding glass wall that opens from the living room to the outdoor patio.

Lowder Brook by Keith LeBlanc and John Haven of Keith LeBlanc Landscape Architecture
A series of structured gardens and terraces were designed in conjunction with a new Greek Revival home set on twelve acres within a residential neighborhood in suburban Boston. The unusual scale of the property conveys the feel of secluded New England woodland, highlighting the dramatic beauty of the existing mature trees, which were carefully cultivated and catalogued by a previous owner with ties to the Arnold Arboretum. The gardens provide spaces both grand, as in the front approach, and intimate, as the walled rear garden, and mediate between the architecture and the woodland setting. Pathways surrounded by rhododendrons and viburnums lead visitors to a hedged pool garden and orchard meadow. The result of this close collaboration among owner, architect, and landscape architect is a subtly crafted landscape at harmony with its formal and naturalistic cues. Home away from home is where we often meet our clients, especially in Bend. They crave a welcoming and approachable, yet luxurious and well curated vacation home. This custom home in Central Oregon’s Caldera Springs neighborhood was no exception. An investment property the owners and their family will use occasionally, the home had to speak to their overall aesthetic, while graciously accommodating rental guests throughout the year. Design for each space was a collaboration with our clients, who selected “inspiration” fabrics and artwork that tell a story and bring warmth and personality to the home. We designed hard-wearing custom furniture, composed layers of luxe bedding, placed photography by local artist and photographer Chris Murray, and added comfortable and low maintenance furniture outside, where everyone wants to be year-round in Bend. Working with the property manager, we checked every item off a comprehensive list to outfit the chef’s kitchen and ensure guests would have all the comforts of home. This home is available for short-term vacation rental through Bennington Properties in Sunriver, OR.

Interior design, space planning and architectural details converge thoughtfully in this transformative project. A 15-year old, 9,000 sf. home with generic interior finishes and odd layout needed bold, modern, fun and highly functional transformation for a large bustling family. To redefine the soul of this home, texture and light were given primary consideration. Elegant contemporary finishes, a warm color palette and dramatic lighting defined modern style throughout. A cascading chandelier by Stone Lighting in the entry makes a strong entry statement. Walls were removed to allow the kitchen/great/dining room to become a vibrant social center. A minimalist design approach is the perfect backdrop for the diverse art collection. Yet, the home is still highly functional for the entire family. We added windows, fireplaces, water features, and extended the home out to an expansive patio and yard.
The cavernous beige basement became an entertaining mecca, with a glowing modern wine-room, full bar, media room, arcade, billiards room and professional gym.
Bathrooms were all designed with personality and craftsmanship, featuring unique tiles, floating wood vanities and striking lighting.
This project was a 50/50 collaboration between Rodwin Architecture and Kimball Modern

In collaboration with the Lawrenceville Corporation, Rothschild Doyno, and The Urban Redevelopment Authority, EcoCraft Homes is helping to redefine the image of affordable urban housing. Working through a newly defined mechanism called the “Community Land Trust” program Lawrenceville Corporation is pioneering a new standard for community development and affordable home ownership.
Phase one of the CLT development consists of 6 new and one renovation unit that are built with materials that are equal to, or often times of a higher quality than the market rate homes that Lawrenceville has become known for. In addition, every CLT home has been designed to seamlessly integrate into existing historical fabric of Upper Lawrenceville by respecting and implementing design elements from contextual neighborhood patterns.
The CLT design team’s radically different approach to sustainability, resiliency, and energy efficiency will ensure the affordability of these homes remain intact for generations, challenging the idea that affordability should equate to compromises in the quality of living.
