A Demlang floorplan favorite, the command center is not just a mudroom and laundry room. Featuring a planning desk, abundance of cabinets and floating shelves, large bench with hooks, and a walk-in closet, the command center makes life’s chaos more manageable.

This very busy family of five needed a convenient place to drop coats, shoes and bookbags near the active side entrance of their home. Creating a mudroom space was an essential part of a larger renovation project we were hired to design which included a kitchen, family room, butler’s pantry, home office, laundry room, and powder room. These additional spaces, including the new mudroom, did not exist previously and were created from the home’s existing square footage.
The location of the mudroom provides convenient access from the entry door and creates a roomy hallway that allows an easy transition between the family room and laundry room. This space also is used to access the back staircase leading to the second floor addition which includes a bedroom, full bath, and a second office.
The color pallet features peaceful shades of blue-greys and neutrals accented with textural storage baskets. On one side of the hallway floor-to-ceiling cabinetry provides an abundance of vital closed storage, while the other side features a traditional mudroom design with coat hooks, open cubbies, shoe storage and a long bench. The cubbies above and below the bench were specifically designed to accommodate baskets to make storage accessible and tidy. The stained wood bench seat adds warmth and contrast to the blue-grey paint. The desk area at the end closest to the door provides a charging station for mobile devices and serves as a handy landing spot for mail and keys. The open area under the desktop is perfect for the dog bowls.

This inviting kitchen features Frosty White perimeter cabinets and a natural Walnut island. X-mullions and Frame-only uppers lend warm light and allow favorite items to be displayed. The custom pantry/command center keeps life organized!

Our design transformed a dark, unfinished breezeway into a bright, beautiful and highly functional space for a family of five. The homeowners wanted to keep the remodel within the existing space, which seemed like a challenge given it was made up of 4 doors, including 2 large sliders and a window.
We removed by sliding doors and replaced one with a new glass front door that became the main entry from the outside of the home. The removal of these doors along with the window allowed us to place six lockers, a command center and a bench in the space. The old heavy door that used to lead from the breezeway into the house was removed and became an open doorway. The removal of this door makes the mudroom feel like part of the home and the adjacent kitchen even feels larger.
Instead of tiling the floor, it was hand-painted with a custom paisley design in a bright turquoise color and coated multiple times with a clear epoxy coat for durability.

Command Central is out of the way, yet so convenient. No more clutter, with a printer and supplies hidden below, a large charging station in the oversized drawer, and mail slots inside the wall cabinets above!

All of the kitchen's taller elements have been installed together as one section between the Dining and Den entries. A counter-depth 42" refrigerator by KitchenAid is installed with matching panels applied. A Stainless double oven is next to that with plenty of landing and loading space directly behind the user on the island. The end panel to the left of the refrigerator opens up to reveal a kitchen command center for papers and other items that may normally pile up on the counters.

This kitchen features a desk charging station and message board along with a desk area so parents stay in the kitchen while kids do homework. Also included are a cleaning supply pull-out for quick access in case of an accident or spill as well as a deluxe roll-out trays for easy access to pots and pans.
