This lower-level space was designed with a “Zen” vibe per the client style and request. We included a meditation area, doggy bed space near the sofa in the common area. In this common area space, we provided an elegant yet playful compilation of grains and textures. The grey variations create a calming atmosphere warmed by the fireplace, while the inclusion of the living wall brings light and life to the space creating the perfect balance for meditation and relaxation. Across from the lounge space is a small area for Yoga, light working out, and meditation. In the shower & sauna space, we outfitted with elegant engraved marble tile as well as deep charcoal accent tile that ties in with the dark metal features selected for the room. The sauna space has dimmable lighting, and speakers made the space a relaxing oasis. The laundry area includes an Energy Star, smart technology washer and dryer set. The addition of cabinets topped with a granite top creates a gorgeous, but functional space.

The Haylofts are the compilation of two quiet straw bale suites flanking a metal and glass great room. Because of the Northern orientation of the Haylofts, the windows can remain substantially uncovered, offering a wonderfully protected view over Flora Farms and out to San Jose beyond. To amplify the impact of the windows, the ceiling is also glass in the living room, offering a wonderful reflection of the farm during the afternoon hours.

On a secluded 40 acres in Colorado with Ranch Creek winding through, this new home is a compilation of smaller dwelling areas stitched together by a central artery, evoking a sense of the actual river nearby. Winter Park – Grand County, CO — Architecture Firm with no bounds

This is a real original Greene and Greene, built in the 1920's in Ojai. It was never finished, so the designer created what might have been, with a new, but old looking fireplace surround, built ins and ighting. Green Malibu tile. A compilation of many different traditional style homes, including Cape Cod, Craftsman, English Country, and Cottage Farmhouse. All homes have a style based in history, yet are updated by a bit of modern style and color. Cape Cod style beach homes with massive color, modern craftsman in all white cabinetry and planked floors made with 'wood' porcelain. An English style cottage with exotic colorful interiors, and a Santa Barbara historical craftsman home with modern paintings. The project site is a three story apartment building with a full basement, which had recently been subject to an apartment fire. Four separate residential units were contained in the structure, including one two bedroom unit and three single bedroom units. A laundry room/basement and a pair of lofts were also housed within the building. The result of the blaze and the subsequent water damage from attempts to extinguish it left the interior of the building primarily gutted. All interior finishes, fixtures, stairways, mechanical and electrical systems were destroyed beyond repair. The exterior of the building was charred in some places, and destroyed completely in others. The project location, the City of San Rafael, determined that due to the extent of the damage to the structure, the resulting project would be considered a “new building”. Our first task was to review the current building code and apply the current regulations to the existing structure (originally built in the early 1900’s) and bring it up to current code. We performed occupant load calculations, a code summary, square footage calculations and egress code analysis for each floor/use. This information was then compiled in order to determine how the project could legally be designed within the current code, all while minimizing modifications to the existing structure. Once all data had been analyzed, the new floor plans were organized and laid out in a manner which retained the heritage of the original building while remaining true to current code. The site was revised to allow for code compliant parking areas while retaining the family friendly outdoor spaces inherent in the original design. The foundation was reinforced, and the building structure as a whole was strengthened to cope with modern seismic loads. Spray foam insulation, low E glazing, skylights, ceiling fans, high efficiency HVAC, etc…were all added to make the building more efficient and environmentally friendly. The use of Class “A” materials, fire separations (both vertical and horizontal) and a commercial sprinkler system were employed in order to avoid any future fires.
