Inspiration for a coastal kitchen remodel in Los Angeles

We were thrilled to be working again with these long-time clients in Villanova, PA, to create a two-room wine cellar. This entailed renovating an existing part of their basement and adding an additional room. The best part about this project? The second room is accessed through a secret door! We designed the mechanism that opens the secret door:the door is opened by pressing the cork of a certain wine bottle. This 8,000-bottle capacity wine cellar features all redwood custom-built shelving, and redwood, glass top display tables. The first room has a redwood paneled ceiling and porcelain tile floors. The second room's ceiling is made from reclaimed wine barrels and the beams are made from cherry wood. The floors are reclaimed brick laid in a two-over-two pattern. RUDLOFF Custom Builders has won Best of Houzz for Customer Service in 2014, 2015 2016 and 2017. We also were voted Best of Design in 2016, 2017 and 2018, which only 2% of professionals receive. It is situated on the flat plot of 7 000 m2 in the in the suburb of Chodova Plana,, 10 minutes to one of the most famous resorts of the Czech Republic – Mariánské Lázně. Here's my shop/office. I call it the "Shoffice". It's a space to house my classic cars, a workshop to work on them, and an office on the loft for my work from home day job. The interior of the visible space is 50' x 50', but there's an additional 12' x 50' space through the door under the stairs that leads to an RV bay and an additional "dirty" workspace that contains a deep utility sink, compressor, work benches and storage shelves, a storage loft, and the water heater.

2011 NARI CAPITAL COTY FINALIST AWARD WINNER/2012 NATIONAL NARI COTY SOUTHEAST REGIONAL AWARD WINNER This creative design involved converting a plain basement storage space into a wine cellar and tasting room for a couple that is changing their basement over to an adult “play” space. The basement already has a movie theater, exercise room, and a game table. They had been visiting local wineries and collecting for a future wine cellar of their own and now was the time. The design needed to work around the existing ductwork for the main level, tie into the electrical panel and HVAC system, move the hot water heater and furnace with associated ductwork, and hide the sump pump in the corner. It also included an upgraded look to the cabinetry and shelving. The space needed to be insulated and waterproofed to maintain constant temperature. The remodel connected to the existing electrical system, adding a split cooling system to their existing HVAC. The HVAC for the cellar has its own ductwork and compressor system, but ties into the existing system for drainage. Cabinetry was modified to conceal the sump pump in the corner, as well as cut to fit around the overhead duct work that cut across the middle of the ceiling. Miniature LED lights were installed along the shelving to give a glow so the labels could be read. The tasting table has a granite top with a barrel curved edge. Small touches added to the cabinetry and racks make this a custom designed cellar. Textures in the tile pick up on the wood grain of the mahogany racking. The custom insulated door has a frosted design. There are a variety of lights used, all on timer, including the LEDs, recessed and puck lights over the tasting area. The raised tumble limestone and the rest of the design, makes it unique to these homeowners.

Kitchen - modern kitchen idea in Los Angeles

This project is another example of how to maximize small spaces. This customer’s small Brentwood yard was centered around their new plunge pool. However, the existing pavers and layout left much to be desired. We reworked the pavers to create usable spaces and clean lines, and a vines and lighting work with the custom pergola to increase the privacy and add a soft vertical element to encourage the intimate feel of the space. Two other structures block the pool equipment and AC compressor from sight. This reduces the visual weight of these areas and allows the eye to focus on the crown jewel of the space… the pool.

New York Ductless Mini Split Air Conditioner - Ductless, mini split-system air-conditioners (mini splits) have numerous potential applications in residential, commercial, and institutional buildings. The most common applications are in multifamily housing or as retrofit add-ons to houses with "non-ducted" heating systems, such as hydronic (hot water heat), radiant panels, and space heaters (wood, kerosene, propane).

This interior view highlights a functional garage addition and workshop space completed by Eric Cantu Remodeling for a home in the Preston Hollow neighborhood. The image showcases a commercial-grade overhead storage lift, lowered to the epoxy floor, directly beneath an open ceiling hatch that provides access to the insulated attic space. Overhead, a custom hexagonal LED lighting grid is mounted to a black accent ceiling, illuminating the high-gloss gray floor below. The workshop area is equipped with an industrial dust collection system connected to overhead metal ductwork, alongside portable air compressors positioned against the white walls. Two modern, glass-paneled garage doors allow natural light into the space, creating a practical layout designed for automotive and woodworking projects in this custom Preston Hollow build.
