Our client’s intension was to make this bathroom suite a very specialized spa retreat. She envisioned exquisite, highly crafted components and loved the colors gold and purple. We were challenged to mix contemporary, traditional and rustic features.
Also on the wish-list were a sizeable wardrobe room and a meditative loft-like retreat. Hydronic heated flooring was installed throughout. The numerous features in this project required replacement of the home’s plumbing and electrical systems. The cedar ceiling and other places in the room replicate what is found in the rest of the home. The project encompassed 400 sq. feet.
Features found at one end of the suite are new stained glass windows – designed to match to existing, a Giallo Rio slab granite platform and a Carlton clawfoot tub. The platform is banded at the floor by a mosaic of 1″ x 1″ glass tile.
Near the tub platform area is a large walnut stained vanity with Contemporary slab door fronts and shaker drawers. This is the larger of two separate vanities. Each are enhanced with hand blown artisan pendant lighting.
A custom fireplace is centrally placed as a dominant design feature. The hammered copper that surrounds the fireplace and vent pipe were crafted by a talented local tradesman. It is topped with a Café Imperial marble.
A lavishly appointed shower is the centerpiece of the bathroom suite. The many slabs of granite used on this project were chosen for the beautiful veins of quartz, purple and gold that our client adores.
Two distinct spaces flank a small vanity; the wardrobe and the loft-like Magic Room. Both precisely fulfill their intended practical and meditative purposes. A floor to ceiling wardrobe and oversized built-in dresser keep clothing, shoes and accessories organized. The dresser is topped with the same marble used atop the fireplace and inset into the wardrobe flooring.
The Magic Room is a space for resting, reading or just gazing out on the serene setting. The reading lights are Oil Rubbed Bronze. A drawer within the step up to the loft keeps reading and writing materials neatly tucked away.
Within the highly customized space, marble, granite, copper and art glass come together in a harmonious design that is organized for maximum rejuvenation that pleases our client to not end!

The homeowner confessed that she found her bathroom depressing. She lived in an outdated 1980s space that turned her morning routine into a chore rather than a moment of self-care. After fifteen years in the house, she was finally ready to invest in herself.
What she was looking for was classic elegance with a touch of personality, something timeless that wouldn’t feel outdated in five years. And that’s precisely what we delivered.
The renovation required stripping everything down, even the studs. Opening up the walls, we discovered outdated plumbing that needed complete replacement: copper pipes and new drainage systems installed to current standards. We also installed appropriate waterproofing membranes, essential for long-lasting durability, especially in the shower area.
The design focuses on soft gray tones that feel calming rather than cold. The custom double vanity, with its elegant gray cabinetry and white quartz countertop, offers both beauty and functionality; Finally, no more fighting over mirror space in the mornings. Those chrome sconces flanking the mirrors add a touch of glamour while providing excellent lighting.
The true star of the design is the patterned tile. The homeowner was worried it would be “too busy,” but our designer was certain—and she was right—that it would bring the gray to life. We convinced her to try it, and it became the bathroom’s defining feature: a beautiful geometric pattern in black, white, and gray that adds character without overwhelming the space.
The combination of a bathtub and shower behind frameless glass creates a sense of spaciousness and light, with classic white subway tiles that never go out of style. Three windows flood the space with natural light, a luxury in any bathroom. The end result is a space of calm, relaxation, and beauty. That’s the kind of transformation that gives meaning to our work.

This small master bathroom in a 1980s ranch was in need of a dramatic transformation to better meet the “empty nester” homeowners’ changing needs and taste. To improve its functionality and allow us to include an enlarged porcelain tile shower, we borrowed 15 square feet from the adjacent seldom-used guest bathroom, but did so without sacrificing that room’s functionality and aesthetic. Total usable space between the two bathrooms was approximately 100 square feet. This redesign was challenging due to the limited space, but the final layout reflects a balance between beauty, efficiency, and the homeowners’ priorities. They were open to innovative finishes, which resulted in two precisely-crafted luxurious, spa-like bathrooms that allow for relaxation and optimal functionality.

This walk-in closet embodies the perfect blend of elegance and function. Outfitted with rich, dark-toned cabinetry, the space exudes a sense of luxury while maintaining a warm, grounded atmosphere. Each element—from the floor-to-ceiling storage towers to the precisely proportioned drawers—was custom-designed to meet the specific needs of the homeowners.
Natural light filters in through a wide horizontal window, softening the depth of the cabinetry's finish and enhancing visibility throughout the space. The strategic placement of open shelving, hanging rods, and enclosed drawers ensures that everything from seasonal coats to accessories has a designated home. This smart zoning makes daily routines more efficient and transforms the closet into a space you actually enjoy using.
The light oak flooring introduces a welcome contrast to the darker cabinetry, creating balance and preventing the space from feeling heavy. Overhead, a flush-mounted fixture provides even illumination, so the closet remains bright and functional at all hours. Every detail, from the hardware to the spacing between compartments, reflects thoughtful craftsmanship and precision planning.
In the context of this modern family home, the walk-in closet is more than just storage—it's a personal sanctuary for organization, preparation, and a touch of everyday indulgence.

Where the soffit above the sink dies into the wall is where the previous kitchen space ended. Our clients vision on what they wanted to create in the space made planning of this remodel very smooth.

Aerial drone view of an AIA East Bay Award-winning new construction home in the Berkeley Hills, CA. The overhead perspective reveals the full site composition: a standing seam metal roof with integrated solar PV panel array across the main residence, an rooftop deck with outdoor dining and lounge seating, and a separate cantilevered ADU wing below featuring a living green roof planted with low-growing sedum — visible as a lush rectangle of ground cover at the lower center of the frame. A curved lawn area with ornamental drought-tolerant planting beds wraps the base of the cantilevered wing. The dynamic stepping of the building volumes down the Berkeley Hills slope is clearly legible from above, illustrating how each volume is precisely oriented to maximize San Francisco Bay views and passive solar gain.
